     Is anyone using atomos ninja field recorder.I have sony HDR FX7 cam and a sony

    VCT-870RM Trypod with remote control. If you connect the  LANC cable to the cam

    and the other end to the Ninja you can control the record on both.The remote on the trypod works the can OK, but when the remote connected to the Ninjas in socket and the LANC  out  to

     the FX7 LANC as per ATOMOSES instructions

    it dose not work

  3. Ive used the Ninja and like it in concept, but little issues like that have cropped up for me as well. It also tends to overheat with event based recording (longer record times) and you have to watch that HDMI input!

    I did review the Atomos Ninja, it was a great product. However I did not test a LANC cable between it and a camera. 

    Here is a statement from Atomos saying it will work with Sony and Canon cameras:
