Pinnacle AV/DV would work better for you than the Pinnacle USB. There's a good product that I use called PYRO AV Link Professional. It is an analog-to-digital converter also. Visit

You can capture your hi-8 tapes and MiniDV tapes using an analog-to-digital converter and edit in your Non-Linear editor.
You can edit your video using Final Cut Pro (Mac), Adobe Premiere Pro (PC) or Avid Express (PC). There are also other good video editing programs out there.
