Adding Live Type Textures and LiveFonts

Pretty new to editing - Quick question though

Can I add textures and/or live fonts to Live Type? I have Live Type that was bundled with FC Express 4.

I guess I can just make the overlay in Live Type, and when I put it in FCE, I can put in any background I want. That could solve my problem, but what about the live fonts. Can you add those into Live Type? Can fonts be purchased somewhere? Or are there some available for free I could use.

The live fonts that are already on there are fine, just not a lot of choices.

Any help would be great.
