The screen shows WHAT you are looking at? If you are looking at a clip in the trimmer, it shows that clip. Otherwise it shows the main timeline. Personally, I just put the clips on the timeline and "trim" them from there.<br /> <br /> You might also look at Tsunami (www.jetdv.com/tsunami) which, among other things, has a tool to extract the good segments from a clip on the timeline. I think I might look into those tuts cause I want to learn the most out of this program before I drop more money on buying it. The one thing that I miss is I like the edition interface. It is definitely not over-hyped. Vegas is powerful, user friendly, and best of all stable. For new Vegas users I have to plug Gary Kleiners DVD tutorials on Vegas. You think this is a good product alot of people seem to be using it. To me Pinnacle edition was a waste of money it has nothing but crashed on me and I'm running a fast computer used only for editing. All i want is stable software. If it wasnt for all the crashing I'd say edition is great but who knows.
