I just bought a Canon ZR900 off the walmart site because they had a deal going for a camera with a camera case, and MiniDV cassette tape for 189.00 with shipping it was 214.00... The reason I bought it is because I'm going to Chicago next weekend... Now my question is knowing that its starting to get colder here in South East, Michigan what are some precautions to take once I take my camcorder out of the box this is in regards to to condensation...</p> <p>I had a ZR800 I was very happy with it but it got wet when I was out of town at a biker rally when some jerk driving a water truck decided to spray the party barge I was on with water... I loved the ZR800 so much that I wanted to buy the 900 was gonna but the 950 but I'm on a tight budget and I needed a camera at the lowest price I could find before I left for Chicago to do some videos in local cemeteries...</p> http://www.videomaker.com/community/forums/topic/is-there-a-difference#post-37668 Tue, 24 Jun 2008 09:29:38 +0000 ralck 37668@http://www.videomaker.com/community/forums/ <p>Hello,</p> <p>So I want to buy a second camera, and I'm interested in the Canon ZR800 or ZR900 as they offer a microphone input (I haven't found other consumer-based cameras that offer this).  I don't have a ton of money, and this camera doesn't need to be all that good as my VX2000 will be used as my main camera still.</p> <p>It seems to me that the ZR900 is simply the '08 model and only really offers a slightly longer zoom, something that doesn't matter all that much to me.  Is the CCD any different?  It's still a 1-CCD 1/6" chip, so my guess is it's going to be virtually identical picture quality (assuming the operator knows how to use the camera).</p> <p>I think I read that the ZR800 is a bottom-loading camera where as the 900 is top loading?  I've never owned a bottom-loading camera; is this a major problem or hassle?</p> <p>There aren't a ton of great reviews online about the ZR900 which further leads me to believe that the two cameras are identical and I might as well save myself 50 bucks and go with the ZR800, but I'm open to have my mind changed. :)</p> <p>Thanks!</p>
