I create podcasts whenever I have something important to say. I gathered a small fanbase already. But I also want to make money with it. I got an email from youtube that I now get a share of adsense revenue there. But my podcasts are audio only. Which quick but at the same time eye-candy ways to create a video around audio can you come up with?

Jacob Wayne Bondesen on "Clients want copyrighted music."

I have a client that desires to have copyrighted music in the video content that I shoot and edit for her. I try out music in Garageband and other methods of free music but I know she wants certain songs to go along with the videos she imagines.

Although I am getting paid by her to do these videos, they are only going on her YouTube and YouTube usually recognizes the song and (to make things fair) puts an add for the particular song below the video. She knows this and is still fine with using copyrighted music.

With that said, is the fact that YouTube allows viewers to buy the song enough to say that I'm good with copyright infringement? I am making profit but the writer/artist might be making profit too.

Please help!

Hi, I'm a student filmmaker who's new to these forums. I've been making shitty little short videos for two years, but at the end of the last school year I worked with a production theater next to my school to make this sketch. And I'm just looking for opinions on it.

When I watch it, my only change would be to add more jokes. The video is basically one long joke, but if I could change it I would add more jokes in general. But yeah, thank you for any criticism or whatnot!

Hello folks,

I'm working on a project about a trip to Philippines. I shoot it with a Sony NXCAM NX5U camera.

I filmed in 1920*1080 23.976p and it's my setting in my NLE, Sony Vegas Pro.

So, I did a trailer because I want to advertise my film on youtube.

I would like to know which "export settings" is the best when we want to upload a video on youtube. I mean, when I go in the menu " Render as" in vegas, which options becomes the best way to keep the overall quality of the entire project without degrading too much the pictures.

Maybe some of you has encountered once this kind of questions. It's not a big difficult question.

Thank you very much to you and Videomaker

Here is the latest stereoscopic 3D video I put up on YouTube. It's a montage of some still I took @ the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden in Springfield Missouri USA. The camera was a Sony 3D Bloggie and the video was edited with Magix Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus HD. Questions & comments are welcome (you will probably get a faster response if you ask on YouTube) Have fun watching ;)

As a person who enjoys filming outdoors, especially during severe weather events, and having seen lots of videos on YouTube about severe storms including derechos, downbursts, and even a few tornadoes, I have developed and invented a way that everyone should use to keep all that rain out of their camera while filming, so you don't have to retreat so far back when the rain starts pouring down.

Usually, blankets, bed sheets, and sometimes even towels, come in those zippered transparent plastic bags, especially at the store. If you have recently bought any of those items that came in one of those plastic bags, instead of tossing the bag, you can use it to keep your camera dry in the rain.

All you need to do is put your camera inside the plastic bag, zip the bag closed, and you will be great to go film the next severe weather event, as long as of course you don't stand close to or downwind of any big trees lest you get hit by falling tree branches! And neither should you be on any hills lest you get struck by lightning.

I do however need to say this, if there is a tornado warning, you should be indoors, preferrably in the basement, as especially the middle of the country far from any large bodies of water does tend to have a lot of very destructive and violent (F-3 and stronger) tornadoes.

I am totally new to camcorders. I
administrate a group called Guitar League http://guitarleague.com/ I want to buy a camcorder to accomplish the following:

1. We have performances and presentations on guitar related
issues. I want to be able to video them. They run about an hour.
2. I want to be able to edit and upload to YouTube.
3. I want to be able to video my own rehearsals to use as a
practice tool.
4. I want the unit to have the capability to record external
audio, either from a mic, or from a direct feed from a mixing
board.

I have researched a lot of info on the subject but it is like
reinventing the wheel for me and the more I read, the more
confused I get. I am looking for someone in the know to tell me
basically what camcorder to buy, and what editing program to
download.

My budget will be in the $500 to $1000 range, though price is
certainly an issue. In other words, I need to get a camcorder to
meet my needs, but at the lowest price possible.

      Thanks,

Hey everybody!

Here's a video we did with Indigo Productions last year. It's a parody of the famous JK Wedding Entrance Dance and it was meant to go viral. So far we got over 7 million views on YouTube alone, so I think we can safely say that we succeeded in the "viral" part. Any comments or ideas how we could improve in the future?

Hi,

Sorry to ask this question but I need to! There is so much info out there but still I havent found the perfect settings/setup.

I use a Panasonic HVX201AE + Adobe Premiere pro CS4 to shoot and upload to Youtube.

I prefer to do widescreen and all is digital.

First Panasonic settings what is the best format to shoot?

Second Adobe Premiere settings to import and export to get the best results in Youtube.

Hope to find some usefull tips

Regards,

I've posted videos to a number of hosting sites. When I view the videos from ALL the sites, they play perfectly. However, in an informal poll, everyone who attempts to view the videos says that they play poorly in some fashion. Either they stop, go very slowly, play only the audio, etc. Since I cannot duplicate the problem from my location, it's tough to troubleshoot. I'm happy to try different output formats (I'm using PremierePro CS4) but I can't even validate that they work or don't work properly.

I would appreciate some experienced looks at this video in particular. I can only assume that my other videos suffer from the same problem, but I can't confirm. Here are the links to the same video on several hosts. My questions are:

- do the videos play properly?

- what formats/settings should I be using for best results? (not necessarliy video quality, but compatibility)

The videos I have uploaded to Youtube recently have all got a long time delay on the sound. When I upload the same videos to Yahoo the sound is as it should be.

I don’t think it could be my coding errors because of the Yahoo videos being OK.

Please help me by first watching http://uk.video.yahoo.com/watch/6723523/17481944
At about 1min 04 the shot is from the back of a green car with the plate DIPSY.

You may hear my wife say “DIPSY” and the my voice saying “DIPSY”.

So we have established that the soundtrack on the Yahoo version is in sync with the shots.

Now please watch the same video on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVFackWh8hM&feature=player_embedded

Again at 1 min 04 is the “DIPSY” shot, but the “DIPSY” words are not heard until 1 min 17 seconds, a full 13 seconds later.
Please offer any suggestions, as it ruins my videos.

If a more emphatic demonstration of YouTube is necessary, please watch and take note of the drama in the changes in music here first, then here.

Hello everyone,
I'm heading out on a 3 week shooting time, and the HMC40 and higher than consumer-tech video is new to me, including my HMC40. I shoot nearly all high speed action footage, and these next few weeks will be mostly shot with great sunlight a the dunes, desert, rock crawling, etc. I typically like to incorporate slow motion into my edited video, so my initial thought is to shoot in 720/60p. Is this the correct thinking? Or, should I be shooting in 1080/60i? I've been told that if shooting for slow motion, use a shutter speed of 1/120 in 720/60p, and 1/60 pretty much no matter what in 1080/60i. To me, based on my experience with my D300 still camera, those shutter speeds are only helpful if I'm wanting to blur the image slightly, or the wheels/tires spinning when panning, but is this different for a camcorder?
Then, my next question is what format to export using Adobe Premier CS4 for use primarily for youtube? I want the best format possible for the cleanest, best looking video on Youtube. Is there a format that YouTube won't compress, such as if I export using f4v or flv, for example? And, if so or not, what codec, bitrate, size, etc would you recommend for optimal playback on youtube?
Secondly, given the above, I'll also want to put this footage on DVD for my customers to use a sale/marketing pieces. Will this play a role as to what format to be shooting in, or do I just pick the best format for the web, then just output it the way it needs to be for the DVD after outputting the footage for the web?
Thanks in advance for the help...
Chris

Hi Guys,

New to the forum and really need some help, here is what I am trying to do. I am trying to make video's for my new web site with my Panasonic HSC-SD9 and host them on Youtube in HD.

I have had tons of problems.

I have took the video's on the Panasonic's HX recording mode which I'm sure its 9 MBPS. I then opened adobe Premiere CS4 to edit the video's.

Below are the settings I had Premiere at when I edited my video's:

General
Editing mode: AVCHD 1080p square pixel
Timebase: 25.00fps

Video Settings
Frame size: 1920h 1080v (1.0000)
Frame rate: 25.00 frames/second
Pixel Aspect Ratio: Square Pixels (1.0)
Fields: No Fields (Progressive Scan)

Audio Settings
Sample rate: 48000 samples/second

Default Sequence
Total video tracks: 3
Master track type: Stereo
Mono tracks: 0
Stereo tracks: 3
5.1 tracks: 0
Submix mono tracks: 0
Submix stereo tracks: 0
Submix 5.1 tracks: 0

The only problem I had at this point was the video was very jerky, but the main problem I am having is I don't have a clue what would be the best format to export it in so I can upload it to Youtube HD. There are so many different formats on Adobe Premiere CS4 that I don't know where to start.

If any of you guys can help out with what would be the best format to export in that would be a big help or even if you can let me know if I have went wrong anywhere else.

Thanks,
Kerri

Is it legal to use video acquired from a DVR system in a video of your own? (like video clips from the news or a tv show)

If so, are there regulations? ( Water mark? Not full screen, or frame the original video?)

Is youtube's policy on this congruent with the actual copyright law?

Is youtube's policy on this congruent with the actual copyright law?

This is done all the time in pop culture talk shows where they review what happened the previous night on television... is this relevant?

any thing else you think might be useful to my inquiry?
