I used the camera to shoot church events so the camera didn't get a whole lot of use. I have always used Sony's tapes camera was always stored in its case have never had a single issue with it. I'm selling my XHA1 because i purchased a new camera. If i could I would keep it as a second camera but my bank account says no... as you know the XHA1 doesn't have an hour meter. I am more director than a cameraman. Anyway, 99% of my use of the camera will be for film: cinema, tv... I went to stores in my area, and I can't get the PD170 or the XH-A1 for the same price (brand new). I know about the light issues, but I looked in some videos online, and from that short movies it seems to me like the XH A1 makes a better view after all. What you think will be the best choice for me for FILM making? But then a google search led me to prices as low as $2,700 for an HVX200A. Which would make it about the same price as the XHA1. Does anybody have experience with there lower price tags?
