I have a DCR-VX2100. Unfortunately it was damaged to the point where the microphone came off. I have been searching all over the internet to see how to fix it and I know it can be done myself. Does anyone know the part number or a place where I can get a manual on how to fix it. I have an event coming up soon and I need to get it fixed!

I am looking to purchase a new camcorder that is semi prosumer level. Right now im seriously considering the Sony VX2000 or VX2100. However i feel like these cameras are outdated but i'm probably completely wrong. I was also looking at the Canon HV30 and HV40 but being that these are HD cameras that might cause problems when it comes to the editing. So pretty much it's down to whether or not HD or 3CCD is what i should be looking at. Any advice will help, Thank you so much!

ps. my budget is around $1000 give or take

I am selling my Sony VX1000 camcorder, which is in very mint condition. The camera works great and works as good as the day I got it. With this package, you get the camera, a modded raynox fisheye lens, a step up ring, a filter, 2 batteries, a charger, a remote, an operating manual, a padded carrying bag, mini dv tapes, and all the standard cords and cables. I'm looking for about $1100 to $1200 for this package. I will also trade for a used or broken vx2100 as long as the damage is repairble. If interested, shoot me an email at andreforte@comcast.net. Thanks!

I recently got brand new Sony VX2100E and already got a tape blocked in it
.It throws a C:31:98 error and the eject icon is flashing fast on the lcd
screen. Some times if i start the camera in VCR mode, with the AC adapter pluged in, it changes the error in
C:32:11.

I try already to take out the battery , disconnect the
AC adaptor and leave it for hours, and nothing.Pushed the reset button
and nothing.

What can i do?

I currently shoot fitness videos using a Sony PC1000 and display them on YouTube. Since these videos are shot inside of a gym, light is minimal and I'm looking to upgrade to a Sony VX2100 because of all the great reviews I have read about its low light performance. With my PC1000 I have to brighten up all my videos about 35% in Premiere. I have found a used one for $1200 from a local private party and would like to get some feedback from VX2100 owners. Will upgrading make a noticeable difference? Thanks.

I use Sony FX1000 to shoot theatrical clip where scene is illuminated by incadescent lamps with red gel filter (the net effect is similar to photo dark-room). Apparently, camera is got confused, it screws up white balance and result is awful: contrast is absent and faces are blistering with bright magenta-violet spots. Changing white balance set to "indoor" (i.e. incadescent) does not help. Camera does not ask for ND filter, so the average brightness is O.K. Interestingly, my old Sony VX2100 produces better results with auto white balance. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Camcorder has been used very, very little. I bought the camera with aspirations of using it a lot (approximately 1.5 years ago), and do to time constraints I never had the opportunity to actually learn how to use the camera and now have no use for it. All items in the picture come with the camera, including a generic extra battery for long use (this battery was never used), and the actual Sony battery that came with the camera (UV Filter lens already on camera). This camcorder is very crisp and clear and excellent in low-light conditions. Only Sony brand Premium tapes have been used in the camera. I bought the camera brand new from B and H Video and have approximately $2,200.00 in it, but will take $1500.00 TYD. Feel free to ask any questions, (WILL SHIP TO LOWER 48 STATES)

Hi
I want to buy a new camera and I have some doubts.
The comparison is between VX2100 and HDR-SR11 - MiniDV or HDD camcorders.
I know that is a big difference between them including the price, VX2100 is almost double as price.
First question that comes in my mind is how reliable are the HDD camcorders?
The estimated usage is about 3-5 hours/week in SD format. I think the obvious choice in this case is Sony VX2100.
Best regards.
