I just signed up on Videomaker today and wanted to start out with a forum solely for discussing the JVC GY-HM750U. I just purchased this camera not too long ago and am working to get a better understanding of ALL of the features of this camera. I will primarily shoot music videos and non-profit events. Does anyone out there own this camera? I have searched the web for a tutorial on the use of this camera as well as when and when not to use many of its cool features such as the preset cinema mode. Any comments, suggestions, stories, questions and discussions regarding the newest JVC ProHD camera would be appreciated.

Between Apple Color and Magic Bullet Looks, lot's of editors are confusing Color Grading with Color Correction. The difference is; CG is a visual enhancement and CC is an adjustment for accuracy. So the 'Neo Green' from the "Matrix" and the 'Sepia Wash' prevalent in "Saving Private Ryan" are color grading choices for artistic enhancement of those films.

When doing color correction the editor adjusts highlights, midtones and shadow areas thus recreating the scene as the eye saw it. Here's a vid by Michael DeVowe using a simpler method for color correcting your video in AFX CS using Photoshop.

I use corel video studio, because it's cheap. It's a nice little program, and I've been experimenting with SFX and stuff, and wrote some tutorials.

I am thinking about making video tutorials covering Final Cut Studio 2. Then I can start a blog for all to view for convenience. If you don't already know, the major programs included in this bundle are Final Cut Pro, Motion, Soundtrack Pro, Color, Compressor, and DVD Studio Pro.

So, if anyone wants to request a tutorial for any program, I will be more than happy to provide one. Take note that Final Cut Pro is the program I know best, but I will be able to answer some questions regarding any program.

Also, you can count on being disappointed if you are expecting to see a tutorial next week. I'm still in the planning stages, which isn't much, but still takes time. If you need to know something right away, then clearly state it when you request the tutorial. I will at least respond in writing.

Thanks guys.

Does anybody use Boris fx 9.0? I have had it for a year now (never used it) and thought it would be easier to use. If anyone knows of a tutorial, please pass it on to me. I have searched on line and so far, no luck.

Thanks!
