Hi guys, I am a new chap here and having some issues importing my media on Premier. A bit of background I am using Mac 10.7.2 and Adobe Premier 5. Shot my media on a JVC GY-HM100U and it was ingested by copying the whole folder into my computer. My video is 1080 60i the .xml file says:

dataFormat="xdvb"

videoCodec="MPEG2_VBR35M_1920_1080_60I_MP@HL" ch="STEREO_2CH"

audioCodec="LPCM16_48K"

Neither Premier nor imovie can't open the media and the error I get is that the codec is missing. I tried to convert my media using the Video Converter by iSkysoft but the quality decreased exponentially. I also tried Calibrated{Q} XD Decode, but it won't play in real time in Premier and looks choppy.

Went and downloaded the JVC HD pro clip manager but ironically it doesn't recognize the media either and the error is that is not a m4p file. JVC site and other reviews say that there is no need to wrap or transcode and the media formats are compatible with Mac which is false or I am missing something.

Does anyone have any advice how to get around this issue? Your thoughts would be highly appreciated!

My new Sanyo Xacti VPC-FH1 camcorder shoots AVCHD H.264 files (with a .MP4 extension) at various quality levels - the highest being FULL HR 1920 x 1080 at 60fps. I have elected to use the less demanding 1920 x 1080 at 30fps for editing in Premiere Elements 3. I am attempting to work with files which I have transcoded into .WMV files using a native application within Roxio Creator 9 - having first tried SUPER and AVS transcoding software. Roxio works fine (as did one of the others) for a small number of clips, the WMV files being good on both video and audio, and transitions added appear to be good also. However, when a larger number of clips (say 20) are initially added a dialog box appears in Premiere Elements 3 stating:-

"Adobe Premiere Elements is running very low on system memory. Please save your project and proceed with caution". Attempted further work in PE3 such as rendering caused the application to fail. I tried but was not able to transcode successfully to .AVI files. PE3 would not recognise them.

Can anyone suggest a solution to this problem please.

I have just downloaded the trial version and created a test DVD with 40 mins of video which plays ok on the computer but not on a DVD player.

I tried to email Support at Cyberlink but came up against a brick wall.

Any ideas please?

Hello, I'm pretty new to this but I have a question about the transcoding settings on Encore. The manual doesn't say much about the settings (what are they and what each does).

Can anyone possibly explain these?
