You could have live switched and recorded isos with a newtek tricaster. If your nle has multicam, you can still cut the same way. If not, sync the raw footage once on seperate tracks and simply go through your timeline subtractively.

Hi,

Curiously this is at least 1 video track per camera plus audio track per camera plus the most important track 1 for the video mixing and track 2 for audio. How many tracks your best software can handle decently ? With 6 cameras input may be a manual switcher is the equipment you need over a computer. For the expert what is the computer power you suggest to handle this kind of project?

Regards,

Hi Dylan -

You didn't mention which NLE you use.

If you have access to Sony Vegas (6, 7, Pro 8 or Pro 9), this plugin from VASST is awesome!

http://store.vasst.com/store/sony-vegas-plug-ins/infiniticam.aspx

I think it will fit you need perfectly (IMHO).

Hi,

Recently I filmed an event with 6 cameras. The filming lasted for about 3 hours, so that's 18 hours of footage. Now I need to edit the footage from each camera into one 3 hour video (for different angles). And rather than cutting pieces out of each source (which would take a long time) I was wondering if there's some kind of software where each source plays at the same time in a window, then I just hit a key to send which source I want to be using to a "master output"? So say I wanted to have angle A currently being showed then cut to Angle B, I could just hit a key and then that would happen on the master output which is being recorded into the 3 hour video.

Sorry if that doesn't make sense to anyone, I'm new to this.

Many thanks,

Dylan

Adam, it is hard to give the exact answer without knowing about your computer's system. What is your processor's type and speed; how much RAM; what is your audio card and video card(most important to know); what is the version of your Media Composer? My first suggestion is going to Avid's website and checking the Media Composer's system requirement . Avid software is very picky about what it will and will not work with.

Hey guys,

I am fairly new to Avid and brand to this site. I am working on Avid Media Composer and I am having an issue playing back video in my Source and Record monitor. It plays in the TV Monitor and I hear audio, but nothing in the Source or record plays it just remains still on the current frame. I am guessing it is a simple setting I need to change, but no idea where to start. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Adobe doesn't do patches or updates to its Elements products very often, especially Premiere Elements. There has only been one patch in its 5 version history. They would also rather add flash more than functionality, at least it seems that way most of the time. I would doubt they will be investigating this issue anytime soon.

Surely it must be up to the user to start/stop an application. Or at least we should be given the option...

There was another program that he ran to keep Premiere running in the background, can't remember the name of it though. If you post on either the muvipix forum or the Adobe Premiere Elements forum he will answer you fairly quickly in most cases.

Correction... It was 1.5 not PPro 2.0 which worked fine in the background...

Hi, When I am working on a project, I sometimes need to open other applications, go to other folders or simply have a webpage up on my second monitor and read stuff while expecting PPro to keep playing. This was possible with PPro 2.0. Now PPro CS3 stops playing the footage, be it in the source window or timeline, as soon as I click on something else. Basically, no playback when PPro window is inactive... I am getting a bit annoyed as most of the time I need to play my footage in PPro while typing notes/script etc in another application. Any ideas how to sort this out? Thanks.

I tried watching the interview with the Director of "Dismal" but I got bored a third of the way through it. I don't know that much about podcasting and stuff, but i would suggest editing other clips and stuff in that emphasizing what he's saying. There was a picture of him working on a model of a head with somebody else and that was good, but I'd have liked more of that.

I would also have liked the whole thing a little shorter.

Just my opinion. I like though that you started a show/podcast like that. I might do that some time.
