MovieScreams Horror Fest is now open for submissions. We are seeking short horror films and trailers from independent filmmakers. MovieScreams Horror Fest is an online horror festival and cable Television series dedicated to the screening of independent and classic horror movies. This is a Public Access Television series. Airing Sundays at Midnight. Comcast Cable channel 24 - People TV in Atlanta, GA.

Inspired by the passion of independent filmmaking! MovieScreams, features short horror films by those brave enough to grab a video camera and make their own movies. Any film between 1-30 minutes will classify as a short. This is not a contest so no entry fee is involved. There is no deadline.

Submitting a horror film to the MovieScreams! Horror Fest is free. Simply email us the video link to your film, along with the title and synopsis. If selected it will show up in the list of films on the main page of our website. We promote the horror film genre and provide a platform for filmmakers to screen their work. Film festivals have always been very supportive of alternative and fringe indies. Unfortunately, the horror genre often get left out of festival programs. How will we discover the next Peter Jackson if festivals do not support young filmmakers who create fantastic visions?

Hi to all the film makers and entrepenuers in the film industry. I myself am a small time film maker, and moving to the United States from Bolivia, I started all over, to try and direct and produce my own ideas. All I have now is a small handycam, and am looking to buy a much better camera. My budget is low for now, but I am looking at around $2,000. I have been told that the Panasonic DVX100 is a great camera for someone on that budget. Could anyone please let me know what their thoughts are. Thanks so much. The majority of my work is documentaries or short films. Very artistic and poetic, I tend to stick to alternate angles and different graphics for my films. Please let me know what your proffesional opinions are. Thank you so much,

Hi,

I'm new to Videomaker and am totally unsaavy when it comes to technology. What professional video cameras do you recommend? I'd like to spend around $3,000. I'd say my max is $5-6K. I am going to be using it to make a documentary and several short films so I'd like quality that would provide me with footage professional enough to submit to film festivals. If I need to spend more that 3k, that is ok.

Also, is HD the best and newest out now? I want to have whatever is most up to date.

Thanks!
