Hi,

I have a 7 year old GL-2 that can no longer capture. The LCD and the eye piece looks like a green to magenta gradient. When I press record the magenta and green gradient is recorded. When I put in a pre-recorded tape it looks completely normal.

If anyone has any ideas on what's wrong, or how I can fix it, if it can be fixed, please respond.

Looking for a producer/director for a training video for web delivery. Low budget (hey, its better than no budget), so I'm looking for a one-man-band that can cast, direct, shoot, and handle post. OK, maybe a 2-man band. Looking for creative visionary talent who will bring fresh ideas to liven up the sometimes entertaining but potentially sleep-inducing talking head that I am. I'll be in LA in mid-November to actually get this done. Interested? Got reel? I'm rabranch32 at gmail

Lately I've been putting up videos shot with DSLR rigs. Well just to show that traditional ENG style cam's are by no means out of the picture yet, here's one by Mirko Faienza called "My Grandfather's Garden" It was shot with a Panasonic AG-HPX500 and the stock 17.5 x lens. It's is a bit pricier rig than the average VM reader is thinking about getting, but it does show you don't necessarily need full on shallow DOF to get great imagery. Enjoy.

I ran across this video by DoP Phillip Bloom shot with a 5Dmk II DSLR camera. Shot at night in the city of Prague Phillip makes everyday life in that wintry city look like something that should've been in an Audry Hepburn flick. The Mk II is hardcore in color, but shows that in the hands of someone with an eye can kick butt in B&W too!
