Hmmm.... yeah, be careful with very low and non realistic prices online. When you are opening a site, be sure that there is a an About page or contact us page for you to see if the person selling is real.

I purchased some "cheap" music programs like that before. They are working programs but "cracked" and most have viruses. I would highly recommend you stay away from these type of programs. Adobe has several options available to purchase their products at discounts. I took some classes at UCLA and qualified for their student package and saved hundreds of dollars. Years later I "upgraded". Good luck.

@chamerlane altatis, Your prices are legit but what Chris asked about was the Master Collection for between $40 and $100. You are selling only one program, not the whole ball of wax. Not to stomp, just to clarify.

Alright then. By the way, I changed my affiliate code to Commission Junction. It's a bit more expensive but it offers more option of buying Premiere CS5.5 like buying it in full, or yearly and monthly subscription.

Thanks for the input, I did decide not to buy. As for Cham's question, you have a cheap price, but it's in the believable range I guess. Also, you are selling only premiere. I was looking at the Master Collection, so big difference.

the old saying "If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is" is one that has kept me out of trouble many times. even if that was an upgrade to an academic version, it would be unlikely to be legit. keep in mind that you may be able to buy the disks from the guy for that amount, but will you be able to get a valid serial number from adobe for it to be functional, is another story. sounds too suspicious too me to be legit. Your cheapest way I know is to signup for a course at a community college and then you'll be entitled to get the Education Version at a very deep discount - you just need to have appropriate proof you are a student, faculty, or staff member of an accredited college or university.

I just paid $860 for the full version of Premier Production Pro - Adobe had a deal if you switched from what you were using they would cut the price in half of the suite package you buy. Just remember the old saying - "You get what you pay for". Check out the link above to get an idea of what Adobe is selling their products for.

I just upgraded from CS4 to CS5.5 and it cost me almost $1,000; if you are not upgrading it is about $2,500. I would say this is not a legit version, probably pirated or just a scam all together.

Hi everyone, I used to come here a lot. The last two years though, I've been a volunteer in East Europe and got back only recently. It's nice to see EarlC, D0n, others are still here.

My problem: I've found a post on the Denver craigslist about CS5.5 master collection and other Adobe stuff being sold for $40 - $100. Now I'm not all that bright, and I've been gone for 2 years, but doesn't that seem way too cheap for how long cs5.5 has been out? (2 mos. right?)

I'm wondering if this is legit or not, and will be inquiring before buying to protect my money. I'd like input on whether this seems illegal or what.

Thanks for the input :)

I purchased Photoshop CS4 from them as well and did not have any problems. I also installed Lightroom 2 without a problem. They gave me several ways to get Lightroom 2. Why did you not contact them if you had a so called problem? I asked them a question and they E-Mailed my back in less than 15 minutes. I was grateful to be able to save all this money on the software. Strange you got Photoshop CS4 that you said you paid for to work but bad mouthed and appear to have libeled them them for not any good reason. By the way you should get rid of that piece of junk Norton Antivirus. It has a huge amount of false Postives and can delete important files you need without even telling you. I had to call Microsoft on the phone and spent hours with Microsoft to be able to use Windows again after Norton Antiviris removed important Windows files. Just go here to check on the false postive problems with Norton Antivirus http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&channel=s&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&hs=II3&ei=kcnEStPPIoPP8Qa94flG&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&ved=0CAoQBSgA&q=norton+antivirus+false+positives&spell=1

Has anyone else purchased downloadable software from this online company? I bought Adobe Photoshop CS3 - It has been a frustrating experience. Rather than send you a link where you simply download and install the program, they send you six links to a third party site (rapidshare.com). This site informs you that you have to wait to download each link, but that you may purchase (non U.S. currency) a faster download speed. The fifth link failed and I had to start over. Then I had to extract the files with the shareware that Rapidshare provided.

When I finally got to setup, my Norton AV informed me that it had detected and quarantined a trojan horse and it's associated tracking file.

Believe it or not, I actually was able to install Photoshop. I am worried that something down the line is going to corrupt, expire or otherwise make me deeply regret my decision.

I was also supposed to get Adobe Lightroom for free as well. The link provided said that I had used up all my allowable downloads.

I'm writing this to warn everyone before buying any software from this company...

Hi Saint.

I have worked with the PD150 and I currently own the Canon XL-2. I really Cannot say anything about the the JVC, but I have been looking at prices and the price he says for the JVC smells like shark bait to me.

While both, technically, are very similar I really like my Canon. I like the fact that I can change lenses, even though I can't afford any additional lenses right now. I also like the idea that I can use 24p frame rate as well as 16:9 format that is an option for recording. If you are willing to go as high as $3000 kick this guy to the curb and buy from a reputable dealer. I found mine for $2495 at B&H Photo Video in New York. I f you have not seen their website then you need to check it out. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/

Trust me, I do not endorse a company unless they have treated me well as a customer. I purchased online and get the added benefit of receiving their Pro video catalog a couple times a year.

I almost made the mistake of trying to buy a "deal" but was able to get out of it at the last minute.

Check em out and see what they have on their used racks

Thanks for the reply.

That was my sense of the deal. I will ask for those specifics.

As far as the old tech cams go that is my price range, 1500.00-2000.00, I would go 3000.00 for an Hvx 200 or equiv. For now and my project is internet based and and more of an info product than cinematography. Just gettin by for now ya know.

What do you think of the JVC 200U, the one he has is at the outer reach of my price range.

if legit these cams have very low hours 7-10hr for the XL2, 119hrs for the JVC.

your thoughts are welcome, I am greenhorn.

So i have an opportunity to get a used cannonXL2 for only 200 more than my PD150 which I could trade. Just how superior is the XL2 to the PD 150?

I am still feeling it out, it smells a little fishy. A guy in Oakland has a jvc 200U for 3500, and could be worked lower, really wants to sell fast had it listed for a few days at 4100.00. when I said it was more money than i had considered he then offered up the XL2. the XL2 which is not listed (on craig's list, the JVC is).

He wanted me to go to Oakland with cash today or tomorrow I basically told him that wasn't happening. His story is that him and some buddies took classes and bought the cameras and then just decided they weren't that into it and he is tired of them sitting around.

Little worried about the source of the unit to be honest. How do you check if the unit is stolen is my main concern.

the guy knew about drum hours and fan hours... but was kinda vague as to his projects and where he had used the camera etc.

any thoughts as to whether I should pursue this
