Hi, there I am totally new to forums but I am having quite a problem and need help. I have a Sony Dcr Vx2000 (Pal Model) and I am currently working on a new project (Bmx documentary in Malta) where I am filming it in wide screen mode. But I am having problems when it comes to capturing in Premier Pro. First of all I cannot seem to find a project with sequence settings that match the footage, so when I do capture the footage needs to be rendered every time in the sequence (Red bar appears up top) and my second problem is that when i do check the files properties (get info on MAc) most of the clips appear to have mixed resolutions, some are at 1280x576, some are at 1040x576 and also 720x576 I cannot understand why this is happening as I these are clips being captured all from the same tape in the same project. And by this happening I am loosing a lot of quality and cannot work on the footage as easily... any help?

I apologize if this has been asked and answered but I am new to video and this forum. I do event videography with two cameras and a digital audio recorder. Is there any way to use the camera and recorder time of day information to give at least an approximate sync for editing? I use Adobe Premier Pro and Final Cut Pro. I have a trial version of PluralEyes but it sometimes doesn't work perfectly and will cost me $149 to buy in 10 days. I could very carefully synchronize the clocks in the equipment before I start a shoot. All the equipment records to SD cards so there are file times recorded with the files.

I'm running CS 2 on my pc (xp home) and started experimenting with a tapeless sony hdr-cx150 for import and burn to dvd. Up to this point, we have been exporting in mini dv. We can import footage to the timeline and export to dvd but when viewing the finished product, it's almost unwatchable. It's very jerky and a bit out of focus, especially when the camera pans or there is action. We've converted the footage (mpg) to other formats but no difference. We also set the camera for sd, not hd. I'm just wondering if my older version of PP cannot handle this newer technology. Any suggestions?

I have been using Adobe Premier Pro CS4 for a few months for a number of small/big projects and it worked fine. However, in the last two projects I faced a strange problem: audio lags video.

1) I captured 1hour HD material form SONY FX1000 in to PP CS4 as usual. I checked MPEG file using Windows Media Player and there was perfect sync between audio and video. Then I imported this file as an asset into PP and watched it there. The beginning of the file is O.K., but at the end audio lags video by ~1s. Same problem was in MPEG2 file after encoding. I tried to re-capture the file - no effect. Becasue editing was quite simple, I managed to correct this problem by settting audio speed = 100.025%?

2) Second example was much worse. I have compressed 1hour MPEG2 file. It works O.K. in WMPlayer. I imported it into PP and found complete de-sync between audio and video. Due to extremely bad quality of initial material all I can say for sure is that at the end of the clip audio lags video by ~13sec. It is difficult to say what happens at the begining but changing audio speed to match A and V at the end does not help in the middle. I by-passed the problem using different editor (Ulead media Pro) and produced required file.

So, what is the root cause of this effect? I admit, just before the first project I made extensive cleaning of Adobe files that littered my computer. Looks like I either deleted some important file or made un-intentional change to PP settings. I did not try re-installing PP CS4 yet. Any other ideas?

Hey all: OK I have a crappy emachine. On it I have 1.43 GB of RAM and a 1.91 GHz processor. From CS3, I needed Photoshop, InDesign and Premier Pro, but am likely in over my heard regarding resources, particularly with Premier Pro. I can't remember what the dialog box said but it was one of a few programs in CS3 during the analyzing process with a red X next to it I guess basically telling me my computer would not support it. I tried a separate download after I successfull got Photoshop and InDesign on but no go. I've been a writer for decades and am trying to upgrade my skills to get me a step up from dinosaur status, but am laid off with little money. I do want Premier Pro for a slideshow cottage industry I am considering. Do I need a faster processor? More memory (likely not, right?) Help?

I have purchased a new Sony PMW-EX1 and I am editing on Premier Pro CS3 (mac). Premier won't work with the MP4 files that the EX1 generates.  Does anyone know a way around this. I have found two third-party software solutions (Cineform and Mainconcept) but both are pretty expensive, for that much money I would rather just buy FCP. Any other solutions?Â
