Try downloading the following file from muvee Reveal help forum:

ftp://muveeUserMedia:UM12oPLkadtunb9@ftp.muvee.com/codecPrinter_ToDesktop.zip

It prints a list of your installed CODECs to a text file on your desktop. May be useful in troubleshooting your issue. You may have a corrupted CODEC or another program installed an inferior MPEG-2 CODEC.

Sony Creative Software site offers the MainConcept MPEG-2 CODEC for sale if the Adobe site doesn't help.

Did you have any Adobe updates lately that may have caused the problem? Maybe you need to update or reinstall the progrm?

Hi guys, I am a new chap here and having some issues importing my media on Premier. A bit of background I am using Mac 10.7.2 and Adobe Premier 5. Shot my media on a JVC GY-HM100U and it was ingested by copying the whole folder into my computer. My video is 1080 60i the .xml file says:

dataFormat="xdvb"

videoCodec="MPEG2_VBR35M_1920_1080_60I_MP@HL" ch="STEREO_2CH"

audioCodec="LPCM16_48K"

Neither Premier nor imovie can't open the media and the error I get is that the codec is missing. I tried to convert my media using the Video Converter by iSkysoft but the quality decreased exponentially. I also tried Calibrated{Q} XD Decode, but it won't play in real time in Premier and looks choppy.

Went and downloaded the JVC HD pro clip manager but ironically it doesn't recognize the media either and the error is that is not a m4p file. JVC site and other reviews say that there is no need to wrap or transcode and the media formats are compatible with Mac which is false or I am missing something.

Does anyone have any advice how to get around this issue? Your thoughts would be highly appreciated!

I cant give you any technical answers for the fear of me being wrong, but I can say that you can use an HdTV as a computer monitor and Premiere Pro will let you use the screen. I was using a 32 in lcd screen from LG for my last project and it worked just fine. I'm not sure if it will be accurate enough for color correction though....

Hello to all .

This is my first post found this site and is a very good one that have a lot of info on it.

So I started working in the area and I´m facing a lot of question . I´m a freelancer , so money is a importante factor in the next questions.

My machine

Phenom X4 965 - 4 * 3,40 Ghz

8 Gb Ram - 1600 mhz

Nvidia Quadro Fx 3800 ( 1 Gb Gpu, and a lot of other features)

Windows 7

My work is focus in Tv comercials.

1- (HDTv , Broadcast Monitor, way to view the work looking for troubles)

I use adobe workflow in my projects (Premier, After effects, etc) , first of all , I need a screen to test for flickers and color correction problems. Can I buy any Hd Tv and in premier, output to him and see the problems or do I need anything else ? And If I only need a Hd tv, can you suggest some models that are not that big or expensive that I can have in my desk?

2- (Best codecs to use in my workflow, or plug in that I may get that improve image quality of the renders)

At this moment we use a DV Cam that record Pal , and then they give me the footage uncompressed, or they use canopus codec , before thet give it to me. Then I normaly work on that footage and then export it to mpg2 using a preset that is the Dv Pal high quality in Premier with some changes, but I see that the picture loose a lot of quality in that process. How can I improve, and what is the best codec I can use. To export to Pal tv .

Note: I have que adobe media encoder and Sorenson Squeeze

3- (Dvd footage , using it on Premier )

Sometimes I receve DVD that I need to take the footage and use it, but the problem is that it comes in Vob files and Premier doesnt read that files, so I need to convert them, what is the best way of doing it, and the best sofware to do it or the best way to work around this problem ??

4 - (Footage in diverse formats)

That question is a problem that I´m facing , I receved some Dvd of a company and some are 720p (16:9 ; 1024*720, )) and others regular Pal (4:3, 756*576), and of course they have diferent aspect ratio 1,44 and other 1,09. My final output need to be pal, what is the best way , program, solution , I can use to solve this problem?

5- (Improving Workflow)

I´m always looking for ways of improving my productivity and image quality of my works, so if you can suggest any software , plug in , codecs, Hardware, I can use that will improve I will be thankfull.

Hello, When I transfer video clips in and before I start a project, I can view the video clips and audio. But sometimes if want to view the video clips in the windows 7 video folder, which I can, but the audio is all buzzing. The Premier elements 8 software takes a while to boot up and just for quick viewing of the clips I use the Windows 7 video folder. Why is there no audio in the Windows 7 video folder and just a lot of buzzing? Thanks, Steve scmason@charter.net

The initial build was meant to be easily scaled so thats good to hear. The 8 gigs of ram would only be of use uf I went to Vista64, I beleive. I'll never do that for the audio OS drive but I wonder what a can of worms it would be for the NLE OS drive. For someone like me who started sequencing music on a C64 in the mid-80s the idea of 8G of RAM is empting. Very tempting.

Well, I believe that's a quadcore processor and you can max out the board to 8GB RAM....the third monitor will be nice too.

I have a home built computer for digital audio recording that I want to utilize as an NLE. I'll be swapping each tweaked installation of XP Pro 32bit using removable drives instead of multi-booting. The specs are as follows:

MoBo - MSI K9A2 PLATINUM 790FX AM2+

CPU - AMD|PHENOM 9750 2.4G AM2 65N

Memory - M2Gx2|GSK F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK

OS Drives - Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200KSRTL 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s (3 drives, each installed in a Kingwin KF-91-BK removable rack with independent XP Pro installs tweaked specifically for audio, video editing, or photo editing)

Storage Drives - Seagate HD 500G|ST 7K 16M SATA2 ST3500630AS (three drives: one for audio recordings, one for photos, another for audio samples, and finally, a 750G Seagate drive for video which will prabably end up in a removable rack. Any drive not utilized during a given task is used for "scratch drive"/temp files and/or virtual memory)

Graphics card - VGA ATI 100-505182 FireGL V3350

Monitors - ACER|LCD 19" 5MS DVI X193W+BD (a pair for dual monitoring the timeline)

DVDwr - ASUS|DRW-2014L1T LS SAT

DVD rom - SONY NEC|DDU1615/B2s BK

ROSEWILL RC-500 CRADBUS

I feel like the only upgrade needed would be a second FireGL V3350 and a third LCD monitor (Narrowed down to the Acer X233Hbid Black 23" 5ms HDMI Full 1080P Widescreen LCD Monitor 300 cd/m2 40000:1 or the LG W2053TQ-PF Black 20" 2ms GTG 16:9 Widescreen LCD Monitor w/ HDCP Support 300 cd/m2 50000:1, either sells for the same price at Newegg) for viewing full-screen playback of the timeline.

I'll be using Sony Vegas Pro 8 and Adobe CS3 apps for editing. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Is there any way to re-sync or re-calibrate an audio/video file in the PPro CS4? I captured HDV footage in PPro using standard MPEG format (as per usual)... the start of the clip is fine, but the audio is out of sync in the later section (in the timeline). When I "Edit Original" or preview in Bridge the audio/video are perfectly in sync. I tried deleting the clip and importing into PPro again, copying to a new project, searching online... still no luck.

Many thanks,

I don't believe that the tape name is editable in Bridge, at least it wasn't considered editable data when I tried it.

You can change the tape name in the project window, but I think it would have to be done clip by clip.

 We have captured some 60 hours of DV tape using Adobe Premier Pro CS3 for a doc project. We (2 different shooters), realized that our varied and inconsistently named TAPE NAMES that are part of the Meta Data when captured, are causing problems for our editor when we create EDLs (Editing Decision Lists for use in his AVID system)

Is it possible to easily, or globally RENAME our Original captured Tape Names encoded using Bridge or another solution???

We would be most appreciate of a answer or an idea.......hopefully a quick fix! Its 4+ years work on this documentary project...and counting!

 Thank you!
