Hi,

Just curious to know which is the comparison between new Avid Studio and last release Studio 15 which product you trust to be the best investment for an user. Somebody has evaluate this new release and can we continue to trust Avid product? or to switch to another NLE software ?

Regards,

I bought Liquid Edition Pro 6 with an upgrade at just about the time it was being discontinued ( as it turns out ). It was a struggle for me to try to learn to navigate the beast, so I reasoned I would get my feet wet with the Pinnacle software and then make a transition to Liquid. Now, some years later, I'm getting the feeling that any further effort invested in Liquid would essentially be a waste of time; and perhaps I should be scoping out a more current, widely used NLE platform. What say you?

I shot about an hour and a half of the fog rolling in. In Pinnacle it took over 4 hours to reduce it 500%, but with the trial version of Corel Visualstudio Pro X4 it took about ten minutes and produced a nice HD file. Is this normal for Pinnacle?

Hello,

Advice sought: Least expensive PC for video editing programs

I am seeking help finding the least expensive PC laptop capable
of running Pinnacle Studio video editing programs. I'm on the low income side
(especially after becoming unemployed) so I am working with modest equipment.

Because I am couch surfing, I need to stick with a laptop,
not a PC.

I've tried several other editing programs such as Vegas,
Adobe, etc., and I've tried iMovie on the Mac. Pinnacle works best for me. My
current laptop, a Dell I bought in 2009, cannot handle my HD video editing. I
am using a Kodak Zi8 camera.

The system requirements are at: http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Home+Video/Studio+Family/

There are three main versions and all 3 appear to have
different requirements:

Studio HD, Studio Ultimate, Studio Ultimate Collection

The graphics card requirement is the same for all of three.

I'm a quick learner on my own how to use document, photo, and
video editing programs for creative purposes. I am however clueless about the
tech stuff.

I am getting unemployment checks and money is tight. However, I believe in myself enough to take a gamble and spend up to $1,000 on a laptop. I need help though because I'm not good at the tech stuff and don't want to get ripped off at the stores.

So far, Best Buy, Fry's and my computer savvy friends have all recommended different machines. I'm hoping that at some point I'll hear the same recommendation a few times. At least at Best Buy and Wal-Mart there are no re-stocking fees.

Thanks! I appreciate your time and help,

Hello,

I have had a JVC Analog (1997) Camcorder, and after all these yearsa, I'm trying to transfer all my C tapes to DVD. I bought the Pinnacle 12.1 Studio, and although when I capture my AVI movie files from mt Canon G6 digital camera shooting at hi res, they are ok, far better of course than any reproduction of a analog VHS, VSH-C tapes, granted. Would this Canon camcorder br alright for a begiinner delving into the digiatal transfer to make DVD's to play on CD/DVD Players and BluRay players? I was shocked to find that a 20 minute DVD disc I made on studio 12.1, would actually playback on my SONY BDP-350!

When the first HDD Camcorders came out, they were popular, but now with the bigger flash Cam-cameras, Using a HDD bouncing around on a boat, is not a stable environment for a hard drive, and they could and have crashed, just like a computer, I would assume.

Hi,

I am new to the forum and new to video making. I have a Dazzle DVC 100 Capture card that I have successfully installed to my computer along with Pinnacle Studio 9.

Everything is okay until I am ready to record and click the capture tab. I then get the message: "Studio 9 QS cannot initialize the capture device. Please restart Windows and try again."

I have restarted but nothing change. I tried to install the 9.4.3 patch for studio 9 but it is now unavaiable as they want you to buy the newest software. My drivers are up to date for the capture card.

Any suggestions, please.

Thank you.

i shot a wedding and edited on Pinnacle STudio 14 and authored on vegas dvd architect and was all ready to send the finished product when i noticed that at the transition point on every clip there is a noticeable blip of static in the audio. when i open the project and play the timeline it is perfect but as soon as i render it the static returns, i have rendered twice with the same result. i'm not sure if this is why, but i had a problem the first time i rendered it where the audio was distorting and i realized the audio levels were set too high, but when i went to change it i discovered that my original project files were gone, i have no idea why or how (a whole other question), but all i had was the rendered file with dodgy audio, so i imported that and muted the audio then laid the soundtrack on the timeline again. like i said, it plays great on the timeline, but once rendered the static returns and i cannot give this to my clients and i am freaking out a little cos i'm running out of time.

PLEASE can anyone help me?

OK, my hair is hurting. I have moved from HD tape to AVCHD. It's a whole new world! Editing in Pinnacle 12.1 plus use to be a delight. I could download from tape effortlessly at real time speed. Editing (for the most part) was quick and easy. Life was good....Now, armed with my new Canon HF20 camera and a new Buffalo Blue-ray disc waiting in the wings, I tententively entered the world of AVCHD. Downloads are horribly long (hours). Processing of the files is also long. PC performance (P4 with 2Gig mem and 512 video) is back to the 80's and my old 286!! Well, maybe not THAT bad. Until I can improve my computer performance (I'm thinking Cray), I have come to the conclusion that I need to convert these .mts files into a format that will keep my video and audio in tack, but, allow me to bring the converted files into Pinnacle for easier editing - like the old days. I'll part my BR disc until the PC is upgraded. So, here are my specific questions:

What converting format would best maintain the intregity of my work and allow me to continue to use Pinnacle?

What is the best converter (I'm not rich) out there in the market?

If I convert .MTS files to another format, can I still have the 1080 quality available to show and/or burn?

Finally, I have an hour of AVCHD recorded that I want to edit (Pinnacle) and burn onto regular Def DVD's. Would this change the type of file I would need to convert to?

Â

Now I was coming from movie maker so I didn.t care when it said magic bullet looks couldn't work on my computter. Now i'm on v.14 and it still has magic bullet. Once again it shows an error. After talking to some VFX people I know I decided I need to use this software.

My next step is to "make movie" I select DVD and best quality. The time alloted appears to have sufficient space. I next click "create", the blue bar on the preview screen say making movie in progress, but in reality...NOTHING is happening :( It locks up and never makes a movie.Â

Do I need to upgrade or is there a better software to do this with ?

I have a canon HD Vixia HF10 and just bought Pinnacle studio plus edition 12. The problem is I cant get my recordings to show up when I click the capture button. I get an error message that says

Studio is unable to connect to your video device.

If you have a DV make sure its on VTR, VCR or play mode and is connected to Firewire or 1394 port on your computer.

Right now I am connected to the computer from the mini USB to USB on the computer and I am in the play mode on the Canon. Thats the way it worked when I was using the software that came with the Canon with no problems except the software was pretty awful.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

How do you Right-Protect an audio CD, and put on author's name for resale? So that it won't be copied and resold. I sell on eBay, and have been recording my own nature sounds with my video cam, edited thru Pinnacle leaving just audio of nature sounds and set to music.

Thanks, Barbara

Sorry, for dup post in Prod Tech didn't see this category.Â

I have Pinnacle 10.6 which does not have an option to save as MP3 file, but of course 12 does. I made a nature sound audio, but can not burn as CD audio or MP3 file.

Pinnacle Live Chat told me to save as MPEG2, and to look online for a free MP3 converter. Is this correct? If so, does anyone know of a good free MP3 converter? I have spent so much time on trying to make this work. Help!

My options under save as File Types are:

AVI, DiVX, iPOD Compatible, MPEG-1 2 and 4, Real Media, Sony PSP Compatible, Windows Media.

I don't have AIFF or WAV. So, what do you suggest?

Thank you ahead of time for anyone's help. Barbara

PLEASE CRITIQUE MY TWO VIDEOS. I just found this forum last night, and am new to video making. I truly love it, and want to learn all I can. The tips & tricks page seems to be a really great place to start. I have been learning Pinnacle on my own since January of this year when I have a chance.

I would like to make travel aid DVDS for Tahoe and Reno, etc... for sale on eBay, so, when I do I want them to be high quality with great effects. I would like to speed up my learning process now. I could use anyone's advice, and would appreciate it.

I have a Michael Jordon & Tony Romo video that I need to - hold my breath -Â edit together, and get up for sale. I find the still photo videos so much easier, and just plain fun. Video videos much harder.

Thank you to anyone & everyone who replies back!!

As a newbie, I only still have an analog camera...I would like to shoot fresh video footage to use in practicing with FCP 6.

Would purchasing the Pinnacle Video capture for MAC allow me to convert my analog footage to a useable  format for my IMAC so I could start editing with Final Cut Pro 6?

Thanks
