Digital filmmaking and post has ended 35mm films dominance in the movie business. This new research looks at the future trends in post production and the filmmakers, like Spielberg, who are still loyal to film:

Thank you! In writing the adaptation, my overall goal was to make sure that anyone watching, whether they'd heard of the comic or not, would be able to understand what was going on. There is a gag or two that a non-reader may not get, but nothing that would be seriously confusing or stop someone from understanding what was going on. It's a self contained story. Thanks again for watching and I hope you come back to see it when it's finished!

I'm not familiar at all with what it's based on, but I think the trailer looks great. To add further comment to the poll, it's definately a good way to start experimenting with film making. Some of the best in the world started out just trying to recreate some of their favorite movies, shows, scenes or doing sequels to movies for fun. It's not for trying to make money so I definately wouldn't call it copyright infringement. Back to "Questionable Content", is it going to be something that can be enjoyed by anyone, or do you have to be familiar with the webcomic? I ask because I love indie films and would probably check it out when it's released but I've never heard of the webcomic. Nice work on the trailer.

The teaser trailer to Pyromaniac Studios' upcoming feature length fanfilm based
off of one of the most popular webcomics of all time. Currently the movie
is more than half finished, and will be released Winter 2011. More
details to follow.

As this is a non-profit fan film, no profit can or will be made off of the project. It is made solely for entertainment purposes. The film is based on
characters and situations created by J. Jacques. This is a work of
tribute to his years of entertaining us. Visit
http://www.questionablecontent.net to catch up on the story.

Let me know what you think! I realize this teaser is aimed more at fans of the webcomic who will recognize the imagery and characters, but I still thought I'd post it here anyways. =)

hey thanks! it wasa really fun experiance and i certainly appriaciate the feedback. The white shirts were actually a result of using the nightshot plus feature on my handycam... the shirts were still black but in areas where there was light it made the shirts appear white. it was frusturating. and yes, my school did let us have access to the security footage. it was interesting trying to set up some of the shots when we could exactly know how it would turn out. thanks again for the feedback!

Cole, I did watch both parts and for a limited budget all I can say is not bad, not bad at all. It must have been pretty cool for your school to allow you to shoot after hours, obviously, there must have been supervision, but still pretty cool. Did they allow you access to the security footage or was those shots using a regular video recorder?

I saw only one flaw in two places, when up on the stage and when you found the creature, it appears that you had white shirts on instead of the Black shirts in the well lit scenes; The continuity was broken. The only other suggestion would be to have the guards carring flash lights as most do, even during daylight hours.

Keep up the good work,

I am having problems with Movie Edit Pro 14. When I try to burn a disc program made up of several photos, songs, and movies, my computer shuts down. I am running Windows XP with a 2.8 GHz pentium processor. I replaced the power supply, beefed up my HD (500GB), increased my memory to 3 GB of RAM, and tried a different DVD burner. No dice.

In the burn window, there's plenty of space on the DVD. When I cut the DVD into several smaller disc projects that are 6-7 minutes long I can get it to burn. But, they have to be less than 500 MB. That seems like a waste of space on a DVD and a lot of DVDs to watch to enjoy a slideshow/movieshow of my vacation. Any advice?

PS I tried EMAGIX, but they want me to pay a fee to get tech support as I have had the program for about a year now.

Thanks!

I made this video about how to make a time capsule - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bvBoDJCj1e0. Please give me your opinion.

I want to make another movie to inspire people to create their own time capsules, but I am not very good doing that job. If someone think that can help me making a inspirational movie, about how much we change and how much our life changes I will apreciate.

If someone is interested we can talk a little more and try to make a nice video.

lower satation, reduce contrast - you can do it in any NLE.

Don't reduce sharpness or undersample your clips (e.g. to 24p), unless you want to achieve a certain effect.

<p id="post134">

Hollywood uses top notch Full HD and RED cameras. When you watch
clips of movies from "The Making Of" a movie, the picture is super
sharp. The final movie has a type of softness like Film and is a much
smoother picture and funner to watch.

I tried different filters in AE like Boris Looks but all they do is
give the picture some blur, contrast or sepia colors. I was wondering if
someone can guide me to how they get that movie look in Hollywood?
Thanks.

Directors from all countries, we cordially invite you to bring your artistic contribution to the online video project "Par ma fenêtre".
The principle is simple: Wherever you are, open a window, let your imagination go, and answer the question: "What happens through my window?". Each response has to be a 30-seconds movie and has to respect six constraints.

If you want more informations, please visit http://www.parmafenetre.com/en

See you soon!

Hi Craig -

Don't know if you have this aspect covered but Digital Juice has a neat product to safely (and temporarily) mount your camera to a car (or anything else for that matter) called a "Low Rider" - They sell it with an optional mounting kit.

http://www.digitaljuice.com/products/products.asp?pid=1151

Like I told some of you, I'm working on a car chase film. Small, for the purpose on gaining experience (which I think I'll get a LOT of it after this one. So far I learned what not to do, haha).Â

Well, day #1 write up on my blog.Â
http://craigsnedeker.tumblr.com/post/886348671

That photo has not been post-production edited (except contrast) so expect a little better look later.

Tonight, I hope, I'll be shooting my first short :) A 2 minute (give or take) car chase around the block with my car and my parents car, if they feel up to driving tonight. I'll let you know how it goes

Hi -

I sell clips on Pond5 - My HD clips are $10 each or less.

I also own several Digital Juice HD basketball animations (along with about 350 of their other offerings) and don't see any text, English or otherwise, anywhere on them. Plus if you're not doing HD, their software will render out both NTSC and PAL resolutions. They probably have the best international value out there.

I see the value of having customizable clips but still don't get your pricing.

Yes, compared to some stock houses out there you are competitive - but only the high priced ones. Perhaps you might consider a more varied pricing model.
