I have a menu that I made in photoshop. I want to put a moving fire ball behind it, where I cut out the face area of a motorcycle helmet. I also cut out two other places to put short vid clips to show through. I made the entire thing in Premiere Pro and tried it in AE too. Is there a way to import it as a menu or make this happen. I have never done anything other than a generic menu in encore. I appreciate any help.

In Encore CS3, I create a motion menu button and it plays for 30 seconds. However, it plays the first 30 seconds of the marker, and I want to choose which 30 seconds of the chapter I want to play in the motion menu. How can I do this?

Thanks,

I'm trying to get a project to work on dvd players but it won't work.. there is a problem with menus

I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0
PAL, 720x576, 25 [fps], Lower, Quality 5.0
48 kHz, 16 bit, Stereo, PCM
CBR, 7.00 [Mbps]
Running Time: 00:39:40:05
A DVD template layout (kindly suppplied by AP Pro), 4 Main menu markers, 22 Scene markers, 1 Stop marker
The project previews fine, the menu works great, looks good etc, I burn the project to dvd using "DVD Layout", "Burn DVD", have followed the tutorial supplied by adobe and so on..
The dvd burns with no errors, however when placed into a dvd player to view, I just get a blank screen with some red lines that can move around like a menu on the screen but pressing enter or anything does nothing. If I stop the dvd then push play, the dvd plays title 1 automatically. I can't access a menu at all, skipping to next title, causes the dvd to stop, it says there are 3 titles there, only title 1 works. I can view the entire dvd, from start to finish (all on title 1, chapter 1).
IÂ have tried both +R and -R dvd's, my burner should use +R but I have read that -R work better on home dvd players which is where the discs will be played.

Anyone with any advice or hints would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I have also thought about using Encore for this but the prem pro wizard seemed simple(? could this be further from the truth?) enough for a small project like this.

I am having trouble with menu creation in Encore 2.0. My issue is that when I create the menu and preview it in Encore, it works just fine. However, once I burn the DVD onto a DVD and put it in my DVD player, some of the menu selections are skipped over. I have some working menus that I have no problems with. I even copied them and just replaced the information and it did not work. I created custom menus in Photoshop because I wanted some specific text effects. I have even tried making sure the numbering order is correct in the upper right hand corner.

Any ideas on this could be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Guys,

I tried searching the forums, but the new layout is horrible (and incredibly slow) so I gave up.  So instead of seeing if this question has already been asked, I think I'm just going to ask it...

What do you guys use to make DVD menus?  I'm looking for a program, preferably free or cheap, that gives me the ability to make DVD menus with my own backgrounds and layout styles and such.  I've got my video exported to MPEG-2 so I don't need a program to convert it.  Things like the ability to make moving menus would be cool, but not absolutely necessary.  The ability to set up my own DVD chapters and also have the ability to set up something like an "extras" page (so I don't just have the main video on the disc, but in fact several other videos) is a feature I really want.

Also, I'm not sure if this an application specific, but I'd like it to be able to export to a DVD iso so I can make an iso and test with that instead of wasting DVD's.

I'm not really sure what goes on with DVD menu programs so I may have left out some key points.  Feel free to ask for any more information!  Thanks!

P.S. The new forum design needs to change!  I vote for going back to the old system that worked!

OK so i'm relaly stuck and thought i'd try out this forum.. hi everyone!

Basically i'll start with a bit of an explanation. My best friend loves making movies of all our parties and meetings etc and i thought that for christmas i'd make (using Magix movie edit pro 2005) a DVD of all his videos all professionaly done so he can watch them on the TV instead of on the computer. I've used this program to make videos before but i've never used the DVD meny bit.

So, i found putting an intro clip and a background image nice and easy. I found the 'DVD Navigation Structure' menu on the right and thought it all seemed straightforward. But then i ran into some trouble.

Basically i want to put a collection of about 10 videos that you can select which one you want to watch first. But i cannot for the life of me work out how to get more than one video! All i can do is make one video that can be selected. I cant work out how to get more than one. For example, i want the menu to show little thumbnails with 'Holiday video, somebodys party, etc. But i can't see an option anywhere for putting in more than one video.

I'm sure there is something really simple but you know what its like when you just can't find it!

Help ASAP!

Merry Christmas everyone!
