This is one of the most time consuming aspects of my business, I spend hours and hours mixing performances, and have tried an older MXPro in the past. Quality is really awful. Using HD cameras now (XHA1S), and even though we are shooting these SD; the quality bring in via FCP and editing multicam is so much nicer.

Wondering if it may be good to use Canon FS-CF DTEs rather than fooling with tape, and tape issues that arise often; or trying a software based solution like wirecast?

It just seems like getting a switcher that handles firewire is really going way out of our budget.

Sure could use a little advise! Just finishing up Christmas performances this week.... ready to get these done much faster.

I was wondering if anybody can help me out.

I'm a broadcast student that just graduated from San Francisco State University. I was asked to videotape and event that will be happening at a club this weekend and I was hoping someone can give me some pointers on the best way to actually record this event. The promoter asked me if I could capture the event for him. It is a birthday celebration that he is putting on at the music club and he is also going to have a live performance. What are the things that I should look out for while I'm at the event?

I would appreciate the advice. I look forward to hearing from everybody...

Thank You,
