Hi,

I badly need help.

I got DV video camera(Mini DV) ,(old style but like tape) I recorded outdoor videos at night.

At the back there were lights which appeared in the video in front of public from top to bottom.(vertical). I wonder if there is any solution to remove that light?

Any advice or suggestion will be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi everybody,

Just a few words as introduction - I am quite active in photography, and also in wedding photography field. For having more flexibility during wedding photo sessions and for not being dependent from (sometimes not very optimal) ligt conditions, I recently decided to purchase a video light - and the light of my choice was Lowell id light.

May I please ask your experience with this light ? Are there any particular point // point of attention I should be aware of ?

Also, as a part of my order, there was a battery I decided to acquire - as compared to the initially suggested battery-belt (with the total cost of over EUR 700), I went for less flexible solution for the beginning consisting in buying normal accus - in form of a quite compact box weighting 4 kg for around EUR 60 - but may be you are aware of more flexible // optimal not expensive solutions ?

Many thanks in advance for your answers,

Irina

Hi

Thanks for looking...

I need to film a scene with a blacked out background (I have black stage curtains or black colourama paper from a photo studio for the background) but with a central, sometimes swinging lightbulb, at about head height or slightly above. The lightbulb is rigged to a dimmer switch so i can vary the output and there will be one and two people in the shot.

I want it to look as though the lightbulb is the only source of light, so that at times the light moves with the swing of the bulb.

Shooting on an HD canon - can't remember the model right now - the one without the inter-changeable lenses and maybe a Z1 but I think I'd rather just use the canon. Also have a set of pretty good lights (3).

Any and all tips on how to achieve this would be massively appreciated - assume that I don't really know what i'm doing and have a budget of favors, snacks and pennies.

Though I didn't get to go to NAB this year (insert grumbling here), fortunately there are tons of videos that were produced to show what had been displayed on the show floor for those of us who missed it. One of the many neat products I've seen so far is Dedolight's 'LEDzilla' small on-camera LED light. That the light itself is cool, the fact that Dedo was really rubbing those neurons together by adding 3 optional attachments that make the light not so much a game-changer, but definitely a 'new play' in the book!

CKI on "Help me with creative lighting on the road"

Okay, here's one for the creative lighting experts. Since I am asking, obviously - and unfortunately - I am not one of those.

I will be doing some traveling and will be shooting interviews in offices in lots of different places. Will be flying and taking buses in between. So I will be VERY limited in what kinds of lamps and lights I can bring along, but I really want to be able to bring along some very basic equipment to lights up the shots.

I have a couple of these on camera lights: http://alzovideo.com/alzo_on_camera_video_light_770l.htm and as they are small and very lightweight I was thinking if there is any way I could use them to create some basic light for shooting. I know I would need to get really creative, or have someone get crdative for me? Think there is any way I could reflect them and use them to create some basic key/fill light?

Any other advice on cheap, lightweight, portable and easy to set up lighting would be greatly appreciated, as I am really running dry on searching around.

Hey folks. I am working with Canon FS-200's and have various lighting challeges. I am still a newbie and have inconsistnt results with lighting.

Can anyone recommend a light meter for me? I have limited budget (else, I'd have better cameras). What features should I look for?

Next week our small company has a shoot that will be based inside an office building. There are flourescent lights throughout and windows in every office. We are trying to light accordingly but I don't know how to approach it so our video looks consistant in every interview. I have 3 300-500 watt tungsten lights. Should I use all three? avoid windows? any tips would be very helpful.

I am planning to buy a new High Def. HDD camera. I have seen some new Panasonic 3CCD, Sony and Canon Cameras.

I need it to perform well under Low light (indoors) scenery and have a good picture quality. Is the 3CCD lense the best one or is there any other new technology for optimal image quality?

A lot of people suggest getting halogen work lights for their lighting kit. I was wondering if anyone has tried using them with a dimmer. I have two old theatical lights but wanted to suplement them and was thinking of making a DIY dimmer pack with rehostats and such. Any comments or ideas?
