I found one of both of these cameras for sale, and they are both the same price

i have experience in shooting video and editing, but buying a camera is something i lack in

which one would be the best buy since they are the same price and come with everything they need to operate?

Hello guys,

A quick question here thts been worrying me..

Does an HD cam also do standard definition? The thing is, its my first handycam, and I'm getting an HD Camera from JVC which supports recording in 1080i but am a bit wary to buy it since we don't have an HDTV yet...so can I record in a format which will work on my 29" LG SD TV?

This is the camera I am going in for:

http://camcorder.jvc.com/product.jsp?modelId=MODL028148&pathId=141&page=10

Could you take a dekko at the specs sheet and let me know?

Need to upload hi8 from Sony TRV88 to mac computer. Anyone done this? No USB outlet, AV Jack only. I bought a Sony DCR-HC96 trying to link one to the other and then into the computer, because all the research indicated that the DCR-HC96 was he only one with pass thru capacity, ie, converted analog to digital, but of course, can't find the right cables anywhere to connect these two either. Any help most appreciated

I bought a used sony handycam dcr hc 96 and really need external mike audio. I do mostly family video/documentary filming.

this camera has a shoe mount, where you can mount a microphone. can someone recommend a good mike? ALSO, I really would like a lavalier.

is there an adapter for the shoe mount which will receive the lavalier input? I guess that is 1/8" or maybe XLR?

I am interested in buying a used vx2000 or 1000. I have read much concern about cameras with a lot of hours on the camera and heads? I cant afford much. So i am buyin used for now. What is the down side to high hours on your heads, and are heads replacable? If so, is that expensive, and where would one do that?
