Greetings Everyone! This is my first post..... I've been a video hobbyist for quite some time, and have done several different types of videos. But I was asked to video a "Youth Orchestra" Concert in December. This is a bi-yearly function and the person who was doing the video has decided to retire. I'm a little apprehensive about doing this since I've never have done this before. It is being held in the local community theater, and I was wondering what the best way of getting great sound. I have seen the video dvds of previous concerts and they seem to be pretty good. I just don't know how he achieved it.

Hi, I filmed and recorded sound in a concert using a hd recorder.

However I get some talk-noise from people standding close to the recorder, is there a way to remove this noise with a FX or a plugin? And how do I do that? thanks

Guys not a major concert (Want to head in that Direction) but I have been asked to video a new years event in South Beach. A portion of the block will be blocked off and I am setting three cameras to cover this events. Two are HD, one is SD. My quesiton is the following since the event will happen at night.

Best camera to use...I am considering the Panasonic AG-HPX370 mainly because I need rich colors.

and speaking of colors how to make sure that in post I can enhance what is already there. Since this is a small area I won't be using a Jib rather all cameras will be on tripods.

I also need information on the post production of this event, as the event manager wants to sell the DVD, so I am not sure on the pricing for this events So, the next question is what does a prince for such an event run?.

Thrid question is, It's live and but there will be post production work. So I need to have an idea on getting the best live audio and and sync with the video.

Currentlly I use Premiere as my editor.

So, Best Cammera so concert event...Color is very important

Pricing for such events

Best method of getting the live audio...

I can be email directly to francisco.colon@att.net

Thanks for anyhelp that you can provide....

I occasionally find myself videoing a concert on my Sony HVR-z1u. I usually shoot from the back of the room and have played with plugging a shotgun mic into one channel and placing a wireless lavalier mic near the performers and plugged into the other channel. This has been a big improvement over on-camera mic of course, but I would like to further improve the quality. I have considered replacing the lavalier with a handheld wireless. I am using a Sennheiser EK - SK 100 wireless set. I am also looking at digital recorders but am concerned about syncing audio and video.

Would the Sennheiser SKM 100 handheld be better? How much improvement would I get with a DR and at what price level would I need to look at to get a significant improvement? What are the syncing problems likely to be when editing with Final Cut Suite? Any other suggestions???
