There is 0 imperfections on the unit, the lens has never been touched. Opened and only used to test the 3d viewing on the lcd screen. Has all original accessories, box, manuals and software along with warranty cards (still under manufacturers 1 year warranty). I paid $1500 for the unit. If interested please make me an offer I live in Algonquin, IL. Zip Code 60102. I have a verified/confirmed paypal account to make the transaction with. Thanks.

Here is my latest 3D video, sort of a musical montage with some effects provided by the latest version of Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD. I used an Easy3D camera (aka Rollei aka 3DinLife 820) that I got for $76 (US dollars) from Think Geek a couple of months ago. Questions and comments are welcome, I hope you enjoy the video :)

Here is the latest stereoscopic 3D video I put up on YouTube. It's a montage of some still I took @ the Mizumoto Japanese Stroll Garden in Springfield Missouri USA. The camera was a Sony 3D Bloggie and the video was edited with Magix Movie Edit Pro 17 Plus HD. Questions & comments are welcome (you will probably get a faster response if you ask on YouTube) Have fun watching ;)

I don't get it, why is 3D so popular this days?. I been reading articles that Videomaker had publish about 3D and in all of them it mentions that you need twice the amount of gear to shoot 3D. This goes from the camera, lighting and all the way to needing twice the amount of hardrives for storage. Since you need twice the equipment, you will need twice the amount of money to buy all that. Personally I don't like 3D for one simple thing, I hate 3D glasses. I use prescribe glasses myself and having 3D glasses on top of my prescribe is not a pleasant experience for a 2 to 3 hours movie. Also I cry in every 3D movie I see, not because the movie is sad, is because the 3D glasses and the movie itself cause my eyes to burn. I seem to be one of those people who have difficulties seeing 3D, but in general, 3D is just seeing distances differences between objects...that it. I believe that you don't need a 3D camera to show this magic, all you need is awesome camera angles, good music and the most important, a good story (which lacks in Hollywood movies this days).

As a video producer, who is slowly purchasing my equipment, I don't see myself venturing in the 3D arena any time soon. I ask myself, if I offer 3D (let's say for a special event) that will be exclusive so I could charge more, then again, how much people will be willing to pay for such a production?. Most of the things I do are DVD and web related videos, so for me 3D will be a waste of money right now. When no glasses are needed to see 3D, maybe I will consider taking a look.

I recently wrote an article for VM Mag about a 'Mad Genius' DIY 3D camera rigger. I've just found another who is currently putting together a 3D Beam Splitter for around $100. Used primarily for close-ups during 3D shoots, a beam splitter uses a special piece of glass called '50/50' that acts as a prism and splits the light coming off your subject to be recorded by two cameras at a 90 degree angle. These rigs made professionally, cost a year or more worth of college tuition. To find one at $100 is very intriguing!

Check out Jesse Blanchard's video on the first stages of his build. It looks very promising.

Ã? A handful of us in this most far-flung of the one-time British Colonies have been toying with the notion of putting two camcorders on a common-mount to create experimental 3D. Unfortunately, one disincentive to doing this simply, is the fact that almost every consumer/pro-sumer camcorder these days insists on putting the controls either under the familiar 'flap' on the left-hand side, or has them incorporated into the touch-screen. That makes it almost impossible to design a cradle which will accommodate two camcorders side-by-side, as the controls on the right-hand machine will be rendered semi-accessible at best with the standard 65mm inter-ocular separation.Ã? Has anyone worked out a way to overcome this problem? Two of us have machine-shop facilities available to us.Ã?Â

Secondly, the software to correctly register Stereo 3D images is available in 'Magix Movie-Edit Pro 17', with a US price-tag of $99.

Just incidentally, there is a wealth of 3D expertise available right here in my home city of Dunedin, New Zealand. Some years ago the Natural History Unit of TVNZ was snapped up by 'Fox' and the purchasers found that there was such a wealth of Tv expertise in the organisation, that it was never relocated. Otago University pitched-in with a graduate-level Science Communication course in Natural History Film-making. Just thought that might explain an apparent anomaly to some, overseas.

I have Magix Movie Edit HD 17 Plus Pro. I can burn a regular sidebyside dvd but when plyed on a 3Dplayer, it does not recognize it as a 3D disk.

Can Magix Movie Edit HD 17 Plus Pro create a disc that is recognizable to a 3Dplayer and 3DTV? If so, how? I use both .avi from fuijifilm w3 and .mts from JVC TD1.

I made several discs, data, mpeg, avi, and standard dvd, but sidebyside and non of them worked when I took it to Bestbuy to test on the latest players.

Also, Magix Movie Edit HD 17 Plus Pro doesn't recognize JVC's MVC files. Do I have to export MVC files as left and right and then sync into 3D?

Thanks.

Hi,

I shot a wedding with a JCV TD1 3D camcorder. I want to put it on disc so that I can give the bride and groom to play on a 3DTV and 3Dplayer.

However I have been unsuccessful with Magix Movie Edit 17 HD pro in making a RealD dvd/bluray (one that plays on a 3D player). all the discs i made when I went to Bestbuy to test did not work, It only played sidebyside on the screens. Does any one know how to do that Magix Movie Edit 17?

Or do I need to get Roxio Creator 2011 to create a RealD disc?

Or do I need to get Sony Vegas?

Thanks.

I am sure this will not go mainstream anytime soon, but it sure was a fun little gadget to play around with, and the couple was quite interested in what I was doing with such a funny looking camera!

I didn't spend much time with the camera, just some test shots here and there. Here is a couple of the clips showing off the decorations. You HAVE to watch this on YouTube to view in 3D, the embedded stream will not give you the option:

Gimmick or not, 3D doesn't seem to be making big gains, but it's not losing ground either. The jury is still out as to whether it will become a mainstay format or not. In the meantime, Indy filmmaker's are (as usual) finding ways to give a big budget look to their 3D films without the BB price tag. Here is a 'making of' video by Andrew Parke about the independent remake of the Zombie Classic "Night of the Living Dead 3D". The cinematographers have taken an interesting track in adapting traditional HD video cameras for 3D filmmaking. Check it out.

Here's a video by Vallette Thierry showing how to map a photograph to a 3D object and then simulating a camera move. This is a really cool technique if you're pulling your hair out trying to build virtual sets for greenscreen. Now I've seen a similar technique built in After Effects, but this one is pretty direct. Now I'm not sure what 3D program was used, but the technique should be fairly simple to duplicate in other programs. If you're too broke to shell out for a 3D program, you can get BLENDER for free.

Hello everybody, I hope it's ok to post here, my name is Armando and this is the kind of animations I do.

http://www.vimeo.com/1494457

I hope you get interested. I made most of this work when I was working at a
video production house, this is the first time I try to sell by myself.

And because I want more than one person asking me for an animation,
I would like you to tell me how much should I charge, how much
do you think is a fair price.

I hope you can help me by choosing one logo animation of the reels and tell
me how much do you think it should cost or how much were you likely to
pay for it (take in account a duration between 10 and 15 seconds).

Any extra advice will be appreciated.

Are you interested in shooting some 3D movies?

It is my understanding that if you point two cameras in such a way that they share parallel lines of sight, you have already got half of the problem solved! The trick, here, is to keep the cameras from converging on the thing being recorded. The more you depart from the parallel, the more you will be moving to hypostereopsis, as opposed to hyperstereopsis. The ideal focus involves both cameras being kept "parallel" to each other: don't angle in, and don't angle out, because that causes problems with the illusion of three dimensional depth.

Which brings me to the issue of keeping multiple sets of cameras "in parallel" with one another. (This becomes a serious issue if you are shooting with three or more cameras on a particular scene for a fuller 3d image.)

Are there any digital cameras that have input ports allowing for an averaging effect on the image stabilization desirable for this sort of thing?
