Hi guys,

I entered a video contest about mental health and it was posted as a finalist! The winner will be decided in an online vote and I was wondering if you guys could help me vote and share this video http://bit.ly/xm81TR. It takes a couple seconds with your Facebook account and it really helps out. Thanks!

hello,

Im new to video edition and on a mission. I work as Internet Manager in a car dealership. I am always trying new stuff and to stay ontop and be different. when a new customer puts in a request I like to send them an email answering there questions and have a video walkaround on the vehicle there are asking about.

The way I currently do it: I have a Motorola Thunderbolt I will use the camcorder option and make a nice 5-8 minute video walkaround for the customer to see the car and the options up close and personal. then I will transfer the file to my pc and upload it to my youtube page then take the link and insert it in the email to my customers for there viewing pleasure.

I need some help and insite. I would like to be more professional with my videos. I would like to edit them and have a nice intro to the video like you would see in a real movie. I dont have alot of money to go by something like after effect due to only using it for this one project.

one problem I have with the way I currently do it now and trying to experiment with windows movie maker is the recorded movies on my phone will not play in windows movie player or even find them when trying to locate them on windows movie maker.

I've got about an A4 page of text (essay sort of) that I would like to make a video out of.

The absolute easiest would just doing it like the star wars intro or something similar where I just copy paste everything from a text document to the video.

But it wouldn't be very interesting or fun to follow along. It's a lot of text.

I want there to be a advantage to reading it from a video instead of a web page

(entertaining, cool).

Hi all

I'm using a green screen setup with two fluorescent(5.5K) soft-boxes lighting a human subject and another two lighting the screen. I'm using a Sony C150X Handycam on a tripod with daylight white balance settings.

The screen is working pretty well but I'm having trouble achieving the desired effect with the subject. When I zoom in close to the subject's face, he looks very natural, however when zoomed out further, he looks washed out and too bright.

Here is a picture demonstrating the different the different effects at different zoom levels: http://i.imgur.com/3WQeM.png

Why does this happen and how can I make the subject look like he does on the left while getting more of his body in the shot.

Whenever I record my screen with Camtasia (7) or Jing, etc and playback in editing or after rendering and producing, there will be 3 or 4 places the video and sound skips. My video and sound card drivers are current. I'm running Windows 7 and the computer itself is only about 10 mos old. I'm only trying to do some very basic screen capturing videos with maybe only 2 or 3 annotations along the way.

What's weird is it worked before a few months back, so I dont know if some hardware settings are wrong now or settings in the programs now, but I ran Jing just to see if it was maybe Camtasia and I replicated the problem in Jing as well.

I've got 399mb of storage available and 2.0 mb ram if that matters.

I'm a newbie to all of this so please speak in layman's terms.

Please help!
Thanks, David Lee

I've been using Pinnacle Studio video editing software for quite some time now, but I've never had to upload a video that I've created with the software to Youtube...until now.

I've tried several different codecs, messed with audio data rate/codecs...and the video is only about 1 minute and 12 seconds long.

Every time I try to upload the same video of a different codec, Youtube tells me there is an error.

Any help/suggestions/advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello everybody, I need to do live streaming with a Mac Book Pro 2011, using the new <span class="unread">SONY HDR-AX2000</span> ..this camcorder model does not have firewire out/input ..it comes only with a component video output, USB, HDMI and composite A/V video output..

I wonder how can I plug this camcorder to the firewire port of my laptop? Browsing on internet I found that Grass Valley Company produces this converter ADVC-55: http://www.amazon.co...=A17MC6HOH9AVE6 ..but I am not sure -not even after checking the amazon reviews- if this device will send the video signal through firewire to my laptop, in order to live streaming properly? ..anyone in this forum could help me please?

Thanx

From no notice to within 45 minutes I was asked to record some interviews, brought down my equipment and was set up and ready to go. No warning to really plan or brainstorm anything. This is what I have so far (I have 3 other similar interviews from last night). I would like some input, but also what I might be able to do to spice it up just a bit for the web as this will be the main format for sharing. I might be able to get some background music from each of the artists to play during the interview, but not sure if that will just be too distracting. Also add some kind of intro or even tail end credits. Is it something I should be crediting myself straight up on the video - or is this not proper etiquette for something like this?

My aim seems pretty simple. A band is playing, and I want to broadcast it live on(in this case livestream.com), but the problem has not progressed that far yet.

Can't seem to get my almost brand new cam into the computer live. Can't find the answers out there on my own.Once I do that I may be in pretty good shape.

Camera - Sony HDR CX550V(good prosumer model, about $1,000)No firewire out, just mini usb and hdmi

Interface - MacBookPro. It has FW800,400 and 2 USB's. In research it seems older cams used Firewire and appears that's what I need.Reading up on Quicktime Pro even supports that idea, as well as some Broadcaster thing they were saying works too till I read the fine print.Same deal.

Now I can do it off the insight(Mac) camera it appears, but I don't want to run around the stage holding a computer that is facing the band. How ludicrous! Aren't we almost on Mars? What am I missing? The internet seems filled with people using their insight camera. What's so tough about getting an outside camera into there? I just don't get it.

I have been creating videos for Youtube ever since I was in 6th grade and back then the format requirements were pretty simple. Only 5-10 formats were accepted and the file had to be under 100mb long and under 10 minutes long. Since then Youtube has slowly upgraded and expanded on the possibility of formats and sizes it accepts. Throughout time certain formats were considered the best way to upload, for a long time it was .mp4 and .flv since Youtube would have to transcode the video the least amount to make it playable on the players.

Now that Youtube accepts resolutions up to 4K and file sizes of 2gb (it may even be more now, I'm not sure), pretty much everything will work. So here comes the question, what format can Sony Vegas 9 produce that will transcode smoothly to Youtube and provide the best viewing quality there (Not locally on the computer).

I have always been a simple wmv fan, since it provides decent file sizes while maintaining a pretty decent picture. Lately though, with HD footage becoming more and more prevalent; I have noticed that Youtube and WMV haven't been playing together too well. WMV can still produce great HD footage, but when Youtube transfers it on it's own servers, the quailty is a disaster.

Youtube used to state in it's help area that MP4 was the best format. So I tried the simple .mp4 (Mainconcept AVC, AAC) that is provided with Vegas 9 and which is pretty bare with customization. I made it 1280x720 (and I realize now I never changed the bitrate) and the result was watchable but the quality was noticeably bad. So I switched over to the XDCAM XE .MP4 option that is also provided which provided a much better looking video on my computer. ON Youtube though, it seemed to transcode into almost identical video as the first HD WMV I uploaded.

FLV sadly is not supported by Vegas that I am aware of.

SO what do you personally think is the best format to upload to Youtube is? What codec allows for the least amount of transcoding produces the best looking video?

Please keep in mind I want to be able to do this natively on Vegas unless downloading some other program is really worth it. Also, I'm a youtube junkie so I don't want to switch to another service.

I wish I could be a little more specific, but apparently, this is the only way I get responses. It's about web players in specification to their formats, so I could have just titled it "mac vs. pc" (which is what I'm going to try next time). I am unable to save WMV files in Vegas Pro without getting a dropout, so all of my luck seems to be going H.264.

I can watch H.264 files through web pages on my PC through Explorer 8, but am unable to make them buffer when watching online. NO MESSAGE... JUST A WAIT OF TWO HOURS IN ORDER TO GET THE QUICKTIME LOGO TO DISAPPEAR AND PLAY. Bottom line IS THAT IT WON'T STREAM AT ALL - just a strenuous download. How do I get the h.264 video online embedded (or configure QuickTime) where it is actually able to stream? This is not intended to be a 55-hour discussion, or comment that gets nothing at all. I just want an answer.

I am looking to put any video that goes on my website in the SWF format? It seems like I've been able to do it in Vegas before, but now that my computer's crashed and I had to re-install, I cannot save in the SWF or FLV format. I just want something handy where the user does not have to install software (or wait through long buffers).

Is there anything free that will convert DV-AVI to SWF? (p.s. I'd like it to add controls which their display can be turned off).

Howdy. I'm trying to encode an apple .mov file to flash, a .swf. I've encoded the file using a program called Video 2 SWF 2. The program is decent, and it was cheap. I set my data rate, and my resolution, originally 1280x720, 30fps. I want the video to be smaller, to fit on a website, so I set the outcome file to be 480x270, keeping the same aspect ratio. When the video is converted, I open the .swf on my computer and it looks great. However, once it's embedded in a web page, there are some major aliasing issues. Vertical and horizontal lines where it looks like information is missing. Some of the letters in the text appear cropped... Any one good at encoding flash videos could give me some advice?

take care,

I was wondering if anyone has a solution to do something similar to what Leo Laporte does except cheaper. I don't have the capital to afford a tricaster and a bunch of GL2 cameras.

I would like to do faith-based programming that can be streamed live to multiple sites, like ustream.tv and justin.tv but, also to be able to record the audio and video for podcasts and youtube. This would need to be able to capture my computer screen, previously recorded video, skype video and be able to switch between all of those while streaming. Overlays and graphics would be good as well.

I'm also trying to find a way to make this as portable as possible and am also open to suggestions in terms of decent cameras for cheap prices. I would also like to be able to record the Mass for my church and haven't figured out a way to run the cameras, etc.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions,

I've never uploaded a video to YouTube before. To those that have, is it possible & without hassle & despite not being a coding whiz to arbitrarily whenever you feel like it at your discretion delete a comment as easy as flipping a switch?

Also, I see that YouTube did away with the 5 star rating system. Does anyone know what month of 2010 they junked the 5 star rating system?
