Dear Derek,

In your review of Cyberlink PowerDirector 8 you state as one of its weaknesses that it "Lacks reliability on longer projects". Since I use this software I would like to know your basis for this statement. I didn't see anything in the review supporting this. Is there something I should look out for?

Thanks

I ordereda Video Capture device from Tiger Direct and it came with Cyberlink PowerProducer and PowerDirector. When I plug the capture device into the computer and try to download the video, I get a couple things that I'm not sure about.

1. There are a ton of "Dropped" frames. What is that?

2. When I replay the video I downloaded, I don't hear the audio. Why is that?

Hello, I am thinking about purchasing Power Director 8 to edit my company's instructional videos to DVD. Our first title was edited by someone else with Adobe Premier. I would like to edit our next title, myself because I was not totally happy with this persons efforts. My questions are:

1.)can this software handle a 1 hr 45 min project?

2.)can I create custom menus with my own choice of background color and text font?

3.)Will it work on good computer running Vista?

Thanks, jgaertner

hope that someone can help me out...

I have a Samsung SC-HMX10C NTSC HD Video Camera. When I attempt to edit my videos using the Cyberlink DVD Suite v5 for HD kit, the video is shown as choppy, speeded up, and / or slowed down. Can anyone inform me of what I may be doing worng???

Any info will be greatly appreciated!

As I think I was maybe responsible for getting this new section added I will kick it off with this question -

Most of the new users will download the trial version of PD7 as I did recently.

What actually happens when you decide to buy? Does it download the whole lot again or just the extra stuff not already included in the trial version?

Thanks,

Phil.

PS It is supposed to be a 30 day trial but I was unable to use it after only 18 days - today. I have sent a query email to them.

I have a dell PC Intel Core 2 6400 @2.3Ghz 2MB Ram 250 Hard Drive 256Mb ATI Radeon x1300 pro video card Vista Home Premium. I am using Power Director 6 softwear. Some times when I am editing it freezes up or stops working. Or just takes a while to process the cut or change I make. I think my processor should be fast enough. Do you think a better video card would make any difference??

I am new to editing and purchased Power Director 5 as my editior. I want to caputure quality video from my digital camcorder with a DV connection to make quality DVDs.

There are a lot of settings to do that and you can make and save a custom profile. Screen Resolution size, mpg1, mpg2, etc.

What settings would you use to make quality DVDs to play on a TV? I have ample disk space available.

Thanks,
I too am unfamiliar with power director. I have seen it but never used it. From what I have seen it looks like a similiar program I have used in the past. Check to see if there is a way to split the videoclip at the playhead rather than clip it. That way it seperates the clip into two parts to do what you want with.

Hi, did anyone else experience problems importing 16:9 AVI-DV into Cyberlinks PowerDirector 5.0. Cyberlink claims that PowerDirector 5.0 supports 16:9, but so far I doubt if this is fully true. Yes, I am able to capture directly from my Panasonic NV-GS500 into PowerDirector 5.0, but the quality is clearly less than the capture I obtain when doing this via Panasonics MotionDV Studio 5.6E.
My AVI's that I generated with MotionDV Studio do open in all other programs that I checked (Windows Media Player, Avid Express, Sony Vegas Movie Studio 6.0), so I am sure it is not a corrupt AVI. So far it takes Cyberlink a long time to interact. Meanwhile I want to get this solved and therefore I try this forum. I hope someone knows a bugfix... :(
