Thank you very much.

I am still puzzled.

Would you please post an example premier file for me using any short mp4 files or whatever? I'd appreciate it.

Cheers!

What you want to look for in your export settings is "image sequence." In Premiere, bring up the export window by hitting ctrl+m or cmd+m on mac, change the format to an image format like TIFF, PNG, or JPEG, then check "Export as Sequence" in the video tab. Click export and you're on your way!

EDIT: I forgot to mention, if you're unfamiliar with Premiere, you need to place your video clip on the timeline and trim it down to size before exporting.

Hello World,

Can any one help me in converting mpeg4 video to frames.

I am trying to use them as a background image of my animated 3 D obj.

I'd appreciate it if any one can post an example file for me since I have no idea in using Adobe Premier or final Cut Pro.

Thanks in advance.

Simon you have probably sorted this out by now but just for future reference I will post this anyway.

If your problem is simply that the audio and video are out of sync then there is a quick fix in Premier Pro. Click on the file in the timeline to make it active then right-click on it and choose UNLINK. This will make the two independent of each other. Then you can just drag one in the timeline until it is in sync with the other, might take a couple of tries to get it perfect. Once you are happy with it select both assets and right-click on one of them and select LINK to rejoin them.

If not using a blu-ray player, I would use the computer method to get 1080p. Is there a TV out there that can run a video file from a USB flash drive without a PC or blu-ray player attached? That would be the ticket.

The faster the processor the better, hold out for the fastest one possible and you will thank yourself in the long run. AVCHD is processor intensive so you want the best possible. Your CS4 will work fine for now but upgrade to CS5.5 or 6 when it comes out and you will definitely see a difference.

CS5 on my i7 laptop with only 4 GB of RAM handles AVCHD just fine without transcoding- the desktop with more RAM does it better, but we haven't found a flavor that won't play natively on either. Add to that your CUDA-compliant card and you should be good for a while. Happy editing- that'll be a solid setup!

My input, for what it's worth: I had CS4 initially and now CS5.5. There's a big difference with the playback engine. Some people have suggested it's not THAT big of a difference, and others say it's more of a difference than I've seen, but for me, it's quite noticeable, especially in rendering. That being said, even with CS4, those specs should go a long way in getting the results you want. The only step up from there would be a workstation.

My Current Setup:

I have Adobe Production Premium CS4 (Premiere, After Effects, Encore etc.) and an old Core 2 Duo E6600 Processor and 2.7 gigs of RAM, running 32 bit Windows XP. I am planning on buying a DSLR in the future, but I am upgrading my computer first.</span>

I have pretty much narrowed a new system down to 64 bit windows Professional, 16 gigs of RAM and an i7 2600k processor with a 560TI graphics card (I already have the graphics card by the way). Of course I would love to get CS 5.5 or even CS6 when it comes out, but I think I will be using an intermediate codec intitally (e.g. Cineform) with CS4 to get by for the time being.

Ideally I want to be able to edit AVCHD .mov files natively and SMOOTHLY on my new computer. (I don't want glitchly, stuttery scrubbing in the preview monitor). Granted I don't think I will be able to do that with Premiere Pro CS4, but will I be able to with CS 5.5 with the Mercury Playback Engine? Of course I will be adding some graphics once in awhile, and probably a couple layers of video from time to time. I will also be doing some work in After Effects.

What I don't want:

I don't want to buy all these new computer components and not see the performance I want. </span>

1.) Can the components I have picked meet my needs?

2.) Is getting a more updated version of Premiere, After Effects etc. necessary?

3.) Is current hardware even ready for AVCHD yet? (Or should I just be using an intermediate codec anyways?)

Thank you everyone for your time!

Hi! Im fairly new to both After Effects and Premiere Pro and I am currently experiencing quite a few problems.

One of them is that whenever I import a MP4-file into Premiere Pro CS5, the audio is out of sync with the video. When I view the file in VLC or in Sony Vegas I get no such problem. The problem is obviously connected to Premiere Pro having trouble with the MP4-file, but how do I solve that?

Should I convert the file to another format? If so, what is the easiest and best way to do that?

I am grateful for your help :).

Hi there,

I'm trying to find out how to do this without loosing quality. I've got to make a product show for my friend when he goes to his presentation. The video will run from a DVD to a Monitor via a HDMI to DVI cable.

Yet it seems this method causes to much quality to be lost. I'm not sure what video setup I should use.

For instance PAL DV 720x576 (16:9) which has the 1.4 pixel aspect ratio OR

use the square pixels PAL DV which is 1050x576.

Can anyone clarify which would be the best or an alternative, I was thinking maybe just creating it in 1080P then running it from a computer?

Thanks.

Dave, while reding through this thread I thought that I would add a little bit of info that may help. I have used Vegas MS and am now switching to Pro and on this format you can 'enlarge' (for want of a better term) the video clip on the timeline. This expands the whole time line, magnifying it and makeing it easier to make fine edits. If your NLE has this feature you could expand this interview and maybe find a short section where the speaker momentarily pauses. This might give you the opportunity to find a short clip which can be used to isolate the noise to use the filters. Hope this helps. I am not an expert on audio so don't know if this will work.

I don't know if it's been suggested, but as for removing specific background buzzing I've found that "Camtasia Studio" has a quick and intuitive way to automatically remove a background noise if you can isolate a sample of it. It also has basic manual controls if you want to give it a try. There is a full featured 30 day trial download from Techsmith's website if you want to try it.

BTW, you can do it with or without the video but to export only audio you have to select "File - Produce Special'.

I have used the free version of MP3 Editor - the free version will only create a corrected wav file version of the original but its worth a shot... here's the link - http://www.mp3-editor.net/ The app has an awesome noise reduction feature. I tested it yesterday creating an audio file similar to what you said about yours having a really bad hum from a mic not being fully plugged in. When I ran it through this app it virtually took out all the hum with about three clicks. I then took the settings MP3 used to remove the hum and went to Adobe Audition and used several filters setting the parameters to the ones MP3 used and got just about the same results except I wasn't limited to just exporting to a wav file.

MP3 has a free download you should give it a try and play with it some to see what you can do. If anything you might find another tool for your tool chest.

Dave,

If you would like, i can take a stab at removing the buzz for you (just to help a colleague...). i ounce had a similar issue that got resolved by a generous colleague...

I'm not promising that I will succeed but willing to try. you would simply need to export just the audio into a separate file.

if you are interested send me a message using "PM THIS USER"

you have nothing to loose...

Robert,

Not that I'm aware of. Since this is a mic connection issue, the buzz is on the entire soundtrack. There may be minute instances of no talking where the buzz continues, but I have not isolated any of them.

Dave, you may want to download a trial version of soundbooth to see if you can apply one of the built in filters to see if it works for you. It may not let you correct the entire clip...

You have not answer my question. Do you have a section that you can hear ONLY the buzz or humm? This will help us direct you in the proper direction. As most softwares require you to sample the noise you wish to remove.

Depending on the size of your audio file I may even offer to do it for you... Ya I know that you are on a low budget....

This offer will not last long...LOL

So do you have a section were you only hear the noise (hum or buzz)
