Cyberlink PowerDirector 5 at Videomaker
Fresh from the FedEx package, we just received the latest version of Cyberlilnk’s PowerDirector, version 5. After a quick load and poking around at the latest features, it’s clear this version is optimized for sharing your latest video creation online. In fact, they claim PD5 is the first video editing solution that allows you to upload your finished videos directly to YouTube - without leaving the application! And indeed this process couldn’t be easier. Once in the Produce screen, you are prompted with several output formats…one of which is YouTube.
All the windows are well laid out and the workflow is intuitive for even novice users; yet features like HDV and even HD support will give more experienced producers something to like. In our short test, we did not experience any hiccups, but we’ll give it a more thorough test soon and report back. If you don’t want the fuss of a steep learning curve, and at an MSRP of just less than $90, this looks like a winner.
