Two New from Sony
Sony's newest Hi-8 Handycam, the CCD-TR3000, features Sony's advanced Super SteadyShot image stabilization system and a 180,000-pixel Precision Color Viewfinder with a Solar Window panel. The Solar Window panel adds brightness and improves the viewfinder's visibility by channeling sunlight through the back of the panel. The TR3000's auto power save function turns the viewfinder off when the eye is not near the viewfinder, resulting in better battery life. Panasonic offers Palmcorder owners greater flexibility with the new PV-LCD35 DisplayMate, an accessory color LCD viewfinder that mounts to the back of the camcorder. The swiveling, 3.2-inch screen incorporates over 105,000 pixels in a mosaic pattern, eliminating almost all color distortion on the edges of the image.
