The Future of Vidcast Distribution
In [Matthew York's] Viewfinder February 2006 editorial [he] mentioned "...a small number of video distributors controls the retail marketplace for instructional and special interest videos."
Knowing who these distributors are would make a very informative and valuable article for your readers. [Also] of value would be a discussion about the transition that vidcasting will provide us independent videographers.
Through their channels, distribution companies offer information or a filtering of what is important to the buying public. How will the independent videographer that is able to send a video product over the World Wide Web be able to assess where the market is, who will buy and at what price?
The technical ability is one thing--the marketing issue is another. I can't wait for your response in future issues. Your magazine is the best. You seem to be in our corner.

Videomaker Presents!
"Great Stuff out of the Gate!" [5 stars]
I'm not a big fan of video podcasts, (and I say this ironically, given my video production business,) but this one I liked because it was to the point and quick for what it was trying to achieve. Add a little more humor to the mix and this could be something great. A tech show equally informative and fun. It's heads over shoulder above the first episodes I've seen so I'm really looking to what they pull off, say, by Episode 4.

"Wide Screen is Cool" [4 stars]
Cool content for their first episode… they actually play reader's videos, too. The one they showed was really good. This is also the first widescreen video I've seen in iTunes. Right on!

Again, thank you all for your support and response to our first few episodes of Videomaker Presents. By the time you read this, we'll have more than a dozen shows under our belts, and more weekly shows in the works. It is not Videomaker's policy to "toot our own horn" very often, but this is timely for us as Videomaker celebrates its 20th year in print and we thank all of you who helped support us and bring us along as we research every arena available to show you the wonders of the world of video producing. Thanks for being there.

Correction
We inadvertently ran the wrong photo for the AVP Porta-Prompter in the April 2006 issue's New Gear department. The correct photo appears here. We regret any inconvenience this may have caused.
