Sony has announced 8cm DVD+R dual-layer media to coincide with the launch of its HDR-UX1 AVCHD camcorder. Discs can record 45 minutes of AVCHD video, are dust- and fingerprint-resistant and are said to be 100 times more scratch-resistant than standard DVDs.
