  • Director of Sales:

    Videomaker Inc. is seeking an experienced sales professional to lead our sales team and build and sell our advertising solutions to our clientele.

    Founded in 1985, Videomaker Inc. and located in Chico, CA, our staff produces the #1 national magazine and website in the field of consumer/semi-professional video production.

    For over 28 years, Videomaker has worked in concert with our advertisers to achieve our mission: to empower people to make video in a way that inspires, encourages and equips for success. We do this by building a community of readers, web visitors, viewers, attendees and marketers. Videomaker Inc. provides one of the most effective marketing platforms to reach video creators on the market, reaching millions of people who are enthusiastic about making video throughout the world. Videomaker.com reaches more than 550,000 unique visitors and the magazine reaches over 50,000 paid readers each month. Our social network is comprised of a large audience of Facebook fans, Twitter followers and YouTube subscribers who look forward to viewing our Tutorials and Video News several times week.

    The Director of Sales is responsible to reinforce and continually capitalize on all available advertising and marketing dollars being invested in the video and related marketplaces. In addition, the position includes selling video equipment to consumers and business, and meeting sales quotas and selling new clients.

    Major Duties / Responsibilities:

    Advertising Revenue
    • Secure print, online, & email advertisers and sell video equipment through email, phone, and on-site negotiation
    • Effectively explain Videomaker's benefit in the competitive landscape to prospects
    • Perfect relationships with prospects through astute communication
    • Set an example for account executives through mentoring, modeling, and feedback
    • Attend, set appointments, and demonstrate sales leadership at major industry-related tradeshows
    • Collaborate with other departments to adhere to product schedules and deadlines
    Business Development
    • Work cooperatively with Marketing and other departments to identify and negotiate initiatives that grow audience
    • Work cooperatively with Marketing and other departments to identify and negotiate initiatives that grow Videomaker's revenue from products and services
    Custom Media
    • Work cooperatively with Marketing to identify and develop custom media packages for prospects
    • Perfect relationships with prospective prospects to creatively negotiate high-value custom media packages
    Administrative
    • Provide creative and visionary leadership to the organization for strategically reaching prospects
    • Deeply understand existing industry prospects and competitive landscape
    • Manage all sales data assets — including in-house proprietary systems, third-party integrations, spreadsheets, email lists, and data retained online enterprise solutions
    • Collaborate with other departments to adhere to product schedules and deadlines
    • Manage analysis of all key indicators and department budget
    • Assist the CEO or other departments with management or sales-related initiatives
    Working Relations
    • Reports directly to the CEO
    • Supervises all account executives and sales team members
    Experience / Knowledge Requirements
    • Minimum 5 years hands-on professional experience at a small to mid-size organization.
    • Proven experience in successful hands-on-team leadership
    • Proven experience in brokering business development deals to expand business, preferably in an online or consumer electronics industry
    • Proven expertise working with high-value B2B clients in a sales cycle with monthly deadlines and sales objectives
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, professional demeanor
    • Ability to travel on company business
    • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or related discipline; master’s degree desirable, but not required

    Benefits:
